The Pier work in partnership with the children's charity UNICEF for over 10 years and by Christmas 2004 had raised funds through the sale of Christmas cards, fund raising activities. The Pier work directly with suppliers all over the world and are dedicated to the developing and maintaining long-term relationships with their chosen manufacturers. The Pier has a Merchandise Buying Policy which all suppliers adopt. This Policy ensures that child or prison labour are not used in the manufacture of The Pier's products. It also requires suppliers to pay a fair wage in the local context. Suppliers are visited regularly by The Pier Buying Team, local Buying Agents and by Supplier Compliance team.
