|We had a pre booked Sunday lunch with a large group of friends (36) at the Horseshoe Inn. Right from the start the level of service was very poor. Despite knowing we were booked in and coming there was no one at the bar and then only one staff member turned up who was overwhelmed with drinks and then food orders. Serving the drinks seemed to involve him walking off to a distant bar for several minutes. The pub run out of bitter, cider and red wine after the first round. The food service was very slow and had some tables had finished before others got their food. The food itself was at least served hot and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. Very slow clearing the plates (in fact the customers did it) Few people bothered to stay for pudding or coffee. Aside from our group the place was nearly empty. Overall disappointing and we won't be going back.|

|We started booking this hotel a year ago, so our wedding guests would be close to our wedding venue at the end of May.|
We wanted 6 rooms for the Friday night and 10 rooms + the bridal suite on the Saturday, quite a simple request you would think? Well think again
We requested confirmation of the room booking, and twice we received letters which was incorrect (one we had to pay the postage for). We also visited and phoned the hotel around 4 times trying to sort this out, always leaving thinking at last it has been sorted, even speaking to the manager who assured us all would be ok and our booking request was fine.
It was very important to us as some of our guests had to travel from the north of England.
As our wedding was at 1pm, and check in was not until 2pm, one of our guests picked up the keys late afternoon, which was fine, but It turned out we was given 3 extra rooms keys for some reason, which thank god we did, as when we arrived at the hotel after the function, one of our guest was waiting outside for us, as her room was dirty and had not been made!!
Bridal suite had an old balloon floating around, televison did not work, as wanted to use it to set an alarm as we was meeting all our guests for breakfast.
Further more you have to hunt for a member of staff to be able to check in.
This place is supposed to hold weddings, thank god we did not book our wedding here.
I would stay clear of this place if I was you.
