The Green House Community Market opened on 2nd July 2011. The market is located in a greenhouse-inspired building in Station Road, Letchworth Garden City, which was formerly a mall of small shop units due to be demolished. The stalls are entirely under-cover and primarily will have on sale: recycled, reused, locally produced and handmade goods, sold at: collectors fairs/produce markets and auctions. Opening hours are: Wednesdays from 10.30 - 14.30 and Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays between 10.30 - 16.00. A monthly auction commences Saturday July 28th and special themed events such as records and book, cars and trains fairs and charity events such as jumble sales, are held regularly.
There are public toilets and a children's soft play centre in the same building and the Green House is are very disabled, dog and child friendly. The Green House is very close to buses, trains and a car park.
There is a tea room, serving a variety of hot and cold food and drink, public toilets and ample parking a few yards from the building. The Green House Market Place is a vibrant town centre trading-post, where visitors can meet, mingle and trade local handmade or reuse goods.
The Green House is designed to be a environmentally-friendly venue, helping the Community to buy and sell items which might otherwise fill more space in a landfill site. It will also be a place to purchase unique and collectible Vintage and antique goods and its organic nature means that if people make suggestions for what they want to see, the Green House staff will try their utmost to incorporate them into the events calendar.
The Green House Community Market will be letting stalls each week throughout the year. Weekday stalls are ten pounds for a 6' stall, specialist Saturday Fairs are fifteen pounds per stall.
In the next few months, craft classes and training for self-employment as a retailer will commence. Please contact The Green House for enquiries or further details.
The Green House workshop upcycles and restores furniture, mirrors etc which can be tailored to your own colour scheme if required. There are items in stock, or if the customer has a specific requirement the Green House will either source the item or the customer is able to supply their own. The items are all finished in either wax or a flat sealant and a Shabby Chic distressed finish is also available. Customers who requires a bespoke service can either come along to the Green House to view the stock or purchase from the Letchworth Green House Market EBay shop.

| 5.05 5.0 out of 5 - Every Friday I go to The Green House Community Market with my handmade cards (Caroline's cards), one of the many regulars at the Craft and produce Market. The Green House is also busy on Wednesdays with the Flea Markets, Thursdays is fashion days and there are several events happening on Saturdays. It is a wonderful place to visit, as the atmosphere is brilliant - and the cafe sells fantastic food, as an added bonus. The quality of the goods is above average and service is always with a smile, so it's definitely the place to go.
