We eat at the Daffodil on a very regular basis as it is an ideal place to eat on our way to our holiday cottage near New Quay. The food is always of an outstanding quality and the service first class. We thoroughly recommend The Daffodil to everyone who visits the area.
I only wish this restaurant was situated near
my home - I would never cook Sunday lunch again!

Very good food let down by poorly trained front of house. Waiting time at table 45 mins. Food left on pass too long. Wendy the waitress had no qualms in lying to customers. Upsetting experience topped by the insightful "we are only a pub" from the manager. Evidence that glossy websites can be bought by anyone these days but not manners.

I live in Hertfordshire and visit the area quite often to visit family. I eat out far too often and funnily enough every time I come to West Wales, I insist on a visit to The Daffodil. I cannot fault the staff, who are warm and friendly and extremely accommodating. We have been so often, they recognise us now! The food is of exceptional quality with local produce on the specials board all the time!!! I would like to recommend the New Quay Mackrel or the Gastro Beef Burger, which is by no means fast food junk or the pies which are quite often on the specials board! Or the lemonade cod...I could go on! I look forward to my next visit later on in the year. Read More

Great pub with friendly welcome and fab food.
We try and go as regularly as possible - probably about once a fortnight - and are never disappointed. Have only ever eaten here at lunch time but see no reason why the evening standards would not be as high.

We have eaten here several times on various occassions with different people and have always enjoyed the culinary experience. The food has always been wonderfull, the attention to detail pleasing, with a warm friendly atmosphere. We have no hesitation in recommending the Daffodil to friends and holidaymakers.

Myself and my family have had a number of meals at the Daffodil and have always had excellent food, the staff and management never fail to make us feel welcome. We all enjoy the food so much that we are going back and for to feast our way through the many dishes on the menu. When we take our little 18 month old daughter, staff are very accommodating and she leaves just as satisfied and having enjoyed herself just as much as us. We have no hesitation in recommending the Daffoldil for wonderful food and service. Read More

We had dinner at The Daffodil last weekend and we really enjoyed the service and food there. I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a gorgeous Welsh country pub with a welcoming atmosphere and great food!

The service was good, but what about the food I had cujon chicken for my starter three small pieces of chicken not even enough to fill a egg cup more like half an egg cup if that this was in a dish fild with salad or should I say lettice not a hint of any sort of dressing there were peppers and three apple slices.
For my main meal I had roast beef and Yorkshire pudding or was it a burnt Yorkshire brick with a whole in it, the beef was just the end bits if the joint that I my self would cut of before cooking and use for a curry.
The veg, well some of it was reasonable there was a mash with vegtables in it that was luke warm the carrots were fine as were the mixed vegtables, there was also a dish of cabbage with bacon but it had a slight fishy tast.
I think it was Dauphinoise potatos the colour was gray not light and creamy and tasted old.
I do not think I will be going there again.

If your a bit stuck up and snobby you'l be made welcome here, the manager was extreemly rude and was clear that we didnt fit with his idea of the right clientel, we left before ordering.
Company response : Dear Mr Doherty, I am extremely sorry to hear about your experience here at The Daffodil Inn, Penrhiwllan. Please advise who it was you we addressed by and how you were addressed. I would like to rectify this situation in good faith as this is not at all how we respond to any custom here. Thank you. Carole Davey Manageress.
