The Chain Gang was established in 1997. They specialise in guided, group cycling tours in some of the most beautiful regions of France and Italy.

They cycle in small groups of up to 15 people. Tours are fully guided with an expert guide who will help with language, local knowledge and anything to do with the bikes. All necessary equipment is supplied, including quality hybrid bikes from TREK, helmets, waterproof jackets, water bottles etc.

The company claims to cycle enough to earn a good dinner, without turning the week into a training camp. Emphasis is placed on sites of interest, which vary from region to region. For example, the Bordeaux Wine Trail is based around a carefully selected series of vineyard visits and wine tastings. The Loire Valley trip focuses on visits to the best-known of the Loire Valley Chateaux, as well as some lesser known but interesting chateaux, and local wine producers. In Provence the emphasis is on the scenery, Roman remains and the distinctive cuisine. The company’s boast is that it aims to deliver the best itinerary possible for each area.
