Teresa Chilton, B. Sc. Chem (Hons) QTS, has 10 years experience as a KS2 teacher and has enhanced CRB verification. She has several years experience teaching both Y3, Y4 and Y5 pupils. She is currently working full time as a private tutor and provides maths, science and English tuition for KS2, KS3 and KS4 students (GCSE). Teresa is also employed as a 121 Tutor at at Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College, where she provides maths tuition to students who are falling behind their target grade. She feels that it is important to build the self confidence of each of her students, as well as to ensure a clear understanding of basic skills. This is done carefully, ensuring that the student works at his/her own pace. Plenty of encouragement and praise is issued liberally. This then enables the student to make good, and sometimes exceptional rapid progress. References available on request.
With a wealth of knowledge, resources and ICT opportunities, the tutor is able to offer a range of lessons individually tailored to specific pupil needs. The service is intended to be rewarding and fun, enabling students to achieve their true potential.

Specialist subjects include: KS 2 (Y3/4/5/6) Maths, Science and Literacy (reading comprehension and writing) through to SATs (levels 3 - 6), 11+ and entrance examinations; KS 3 (Y7/8/9) Maths, Science (Chemistry, Biology and Physics) and English. Also 12+, 13+ and entrance exams; KS 4 (Y10/11) GCSE Maths, GCSE Science (Chemistry, Biology and Physics). She is familiar with most UK examination boards including iGCSE boards.

Having entered the education profession as a Teaching Assistant over 10 years ago, Teresa Chilton, who is qualified to degree level in Chemistry, has developed a caring approach to helping children develop their study skills. She pursued her passion for teaching and became a qualified teacher in July 2003. Within her degree studies, she also undertook options in pure mathematics, and is therefore able to offer assistance in AS Mathematics (C1 and C2). She is constantly updating and refreshing her own academic qualifications, and will be offering A -level Mathematics in the not too distant future. She is familiar with AQA, OCR and Edexcel examination boards for GCSE.

Teresa Chilton has a large group of clients from the Worcestershire area, including Mrs O, Mrs H, Mrs A, Mrs B and Mrs T. Pupils range from Y3 - Y11. She has helped these students prepare for retakes of previously failed subjects. All parents have been particularly delighted with the confidence that their child gained following individual sessions. References are available on request.

Teresa aims to create a friendly, non-pressured approach to learning. She assesses the children carefully through questioning and discussion to identify each child's misconceptions and weaknesses. She then uses a range of strategies and explanations appropriate to that child's abilities. This approach leads to growing understanding and confidence enabling the student to make rapid progress. Due to high demand, tuition sessions are normally held at Teresa's home, but she is prepared to travel, time permitting, until your child feels comfortable and at ease with her. A travel charge will apply.

The service is offered by Teresa Chilton who has been involved in teaching for over fourteen years. She has been employed by 3 different schools, all within Worcestershire LEA.

Teresa worked with my daughter to help her with her math's GCSE, she has greatly improved her confidence and helped her to have a greater understanding of maths. After only four one hour sessions my daughter achieved 98/99 in her module 5 Mathis Exam. We were amazed !!! We have also used Teresa to help with Science GCSE which has been just as effective. I would highly recommend Teresa she is extremely knowledgeable, excellent value for money and has a way of building confidence where others have failed. I am happy to speak to anyone personally if you wish to discuss this further.
Teresa has my details. A Hill, Worcester

Teresa helped my daughter to gain her confidence with math's. She was able to quickly identify her strengths and weaknesses and plan teaching sessions accordingly. This enabled my daughter to achieve a realistic goal set by Teresa and my daughter, a B grade for her module 9 math's. This was achieved, gaining a mark close to an A grade. She is now working towards module 10 and the higher terminal paper with Teresa. Read More

I am a year 11 student who needed a lot of help with my module 9 math's work due to poor teaching. Teresa helped me with the work i did not understand and worked at my pace until i was confident with my work. I have recently had my results and have been very happy with my mark, which was achieved by the encouragement and excellent teaching that i received.
