Founded in 1988 with 3 schools in Surrey, Stagecoach Theatre Arts is dedicated to providing
quality education in the performing arts, which is complementary to, yet independent of,
normal academic studies. In addition to preparing students for a performing career,
Stagecoach is beneficial in developing confidence, articulation, communication skills, whilst
encouraging creativity and stretching the imagination. Stagecoach Haywards Heath opened in
1998, and has 2 senior schools and 2 early stages.

The school Principal is Anna Cronin, a former early years teacher, with a lifelong interest in the performing arts. Anna studied Psychology and Education at Oxford Brookes University before training as a Montessori teacher. The school's teaching staff are all either professional performers or qualified performing arts teachers, and often both.

Each discipline: drama; dance and singing is taught by a specialist teacher in classes that are restricted in size to 15 students. As Principal, Anna visits every class throughout the day, getting to know the children and ensuring that high standards of teaching are met. The high ratio of staff to students is one of the keystones of Stagecoach's success. Stagecoach training is offered to children and teenagers aged 4 to 16.

The weekly training is for a three hour period (one and a half hours for 4 to 6 year olds) during which time students all attend classes in dance, drama and singing. The school year is divided into three terms running concurrently with the normal academic year. In order to monitor and maintain standards, all Stagecoach schools are inspected at least once a year by an independent School Inspection Agency. All staff are checked through the CRB for suitability to work with children.
