Mel and husband run Southport Dog Services a small family business.
A reliable, professional and competitive dog home boarding service for well behaved and toilet trained dogs - (no puppies please) it is an alternative to boarding kennels if owners and pet(s) prefer this more pet friendly environment in the home, there is also a pet taxi service currently used to take pets for airport trips or local vet trips in Southport.
Licenced with the council for up to 3 dogs, pet business insured and CRB checked.

I am also Narps UK registered for pet sitting and have a dog boarding licence with my local district council.

The service is managed by Mel and her husband who both now enjoy working in the pet dog walking and sitting sector and have had pets previously for years although none now.

Mel having previously worked for local government care services for 20 yrs and CRB checked, Mel is experienced enough to run the service and has completed her Dog Care Certificate.

Mel and husband helping offer home dog boarding and walks for a maximum of 3 dogs from the same household as compliant to the dog boarding licence, so there are not too many distractions for your pets; friendly dog walkers with a home to share with your pets for home boarding.
Southport Dog Services is experienced in this field and welcome pets all year round 24/7 so if going on holiday abroad, or just a weekend away, or need a break for whatever reason are here to help offer a caring, friendly, homely service for all, so there is nothing to worry about at all and also offers an email service free with pics of your pets stay if you want this service.

Whiskey was really well looked after whilst staying with Mel. I received regular updates and lots of photos which put your mind at rest. I have never left whiskey in ten years but would definitely leave him with Mel again if I ever need to in the future. I would definitely recommend Mel to anyone who needs their dog to be minded as she really loves animals and cares for all she looks after. Thanks again Mel, we thoroughly enjoyed our wedding and could relax knowing that whiskey was in very safe hands.

my daughter Talia has a much loved and spoilt Chihahua!!! and we didn't want to leave him at a kennel.... We visited Mel first which put our minds at rest .... While on holiday we recieved lots of photos and updates which was fab... Would use Mel again no problems at all!! thank-you x.

Both my dogs are booked in together for 3 different dates so far this year as we have a few overnight breaks and a main holiday. Meryl is also having them while I go into hospital overnight it is such a relief not to have to put them in a kennels and for them to have the one to one contact as they are used to having me at home all day, Meryl spends the same time with them as I do just a different house ! A holiday for dogs too ! I totally recommend her.

We left our dog Mavis with Mel for a week while we were moving house as our usual pet sitter was on holiday. Mel was very friendly and accommodating and Mavis had a great time and was spoilt rotten. Thank you.

We left our Bulldog Blaze for the 1sr time with mel and her husband on Boxing day as we did not want to put him in regular kennels as he is used to human company all day. We were worried bout leaving him but he was fine. Brilliant service lovely couple. Will be happy to leave blaze with them again..... If they will have him haha Thanks to you both. Dave and Gail.

Mel looked after our 2 dogs last weekend whilst we were away as I couldn't face putting them in kennels. Lovely professional warm welcome in fantastic surroundings. Regular photos and updates to keep our minds at rest. Picked up two very happy and healthy dogs!! First class service and have already booked again for next year! Oh and Mel had washed our dog towel and blanket... Thank you!

We left our dog with Southport dog services for 4 days and the service offered was great! Regular emails with pictures of our dog and updates on how he was made us feel relaxed and have trust in the service. There are cheaper services out there but the love for the animals from this service is exceptional and there is no way you can put a price on that! Would use again!

Its always hard to leave a much loved pet with a stranger, Mel made this so easy. She was warm and comforting and our dog an English Springer Spaniel instantly took to her which made leaving her pain free. We go daily updates via both email and text with photos of our dog enjoying their new surroundings.

Mels service can only be described as second to none, and I wouldn't hesitate in leaving our dog with her again.

Truly excellent and professional.

Was looking for something different and better than kennels for our dog whilst we went on holiday. Came across an advert for dog sitting and thought we would give it a try. Had chance to see accomodation first and was impressed. Felt happy leaving dog in good care. On return our dog was in excellent health and appeared to have enjoyed his own holiday. Will use again. Price was good too being cheaper than using kennels.
