The quotation and survey process and the installation process were accomplished very efficiently and quickly. The office kept us informed throughout of what was happening next and was helpful with our completion of the FIT application form (which is not the easiest of forms to complete). Furthermore, our energy supplier, Co-operative Energy, was also very quick and effiocient.
I had some solar panels fitted. What I liked;- They had some very good reviews already. No pressure from the sales team, they respected the time I needed to decide and provided any information I asked for promptly. Organising the installation went smoothly. The teams they sent for installation were good, and they all had time to explain/clarify things... Not in a hurry which was a good sign. Final check by installation supervisor was thorough, and informative. Happy to recommend this company and the staff. No dislikes.

South Downs Solar installed a 4 KW system on the roof of my home in Keymer, Hassocks. I cannot recommend this firm enough, right from the day my wife and I first met them to go through the system up to the hand over post commissioning. I like many others I suspect was a little confused about how these panels worked, what was involved in the installation, whether it was worth while etc but I was left having no questions after they left. Every question they answered and to help us make out decision they have an array of different options to choose from. The fitters were courteous and friendly; they looked for the most convenient routes for cables etc to suit us and explained what they were doing as they went along giving us the option for alternative panel layouts etc.
In short I would definitely recommend South Down Solar, this firm deserves to do well in this difficult financial climate.
South Downs Solar installed a 12 panel, 4kw Sun Power solar power system on our seaside terraced house in December 2012. The work was carried out speedily and efficiently and we were up and running within 10 days of placing the order. All contractors and employees carried out work to the highest of standards and were particularly careful around the house given that all materials had to come through the house before installation (this includes scaffolding). I must also mention the office staff of the company who were helpful and always followed up enquiries promptly ensuring that reassurance was provided throughout. Well since installation we've had 2 months of heavy rain and snow from dark, gloomy skies but as of now the panels have generated 104 kWh. What will they do in good weather? Southdowns Solar installed a 4Kw Solar PV system on my roof in Dec of 2011. The courtesy and professionalism were second to none. The system was installed as per plan and has now been operational for over 12 months yielding around 10% over what was forecast on paper. I thoroughly recommend this company and wouldn't hesitate choosing them for future work. It was a pleasure doing business with Daniel Lawes. Dr Rizzo - Chichester.

At the very first meeting with the SDS technical director I said that I would be very difficult to convince of the viability of PV generation at my property. I am now fully prepared to admit that I became convinced by a very professional and sound technical evaluation, with no high pressure salesmanship. The process was very interesting and quite painless! The system I finally chose comprises Suntech panels, 8 on an West elevation and 2 on a South elevation giving nominally 2.5 kW peak output. Each panel has an individual Enphase micro inverter monitored by an Enphase Envoy hub which has a direct LCD readout of the system status and also allows web -based diagnosis and appraisal of individual panel performance. The panel installation and electrical work were completed by a very competent and friendly workforce to a very tight timescale, which I must admit I thought at one stage could not be achieved. It’s early days, but up to now the kWh output has exceeded the EU published predictions for my location. I would have no hesitation in recommending SDS to other potential customers. I experienced “friendly professionalism” from all members of staff with whom I had contact, which is a very welcome combination.

South Downs Solar was recommended to me by my son-in-law, a recommendation in itself! We both went ahead with identical 4kW Solar PV systems to meet the August 2012 FIT rate changes. Now, I don't like pressurized sales techniques and I don't like sloppy companies. SDS could not been a better example of a company I want to do business with! Their representative, who knew what he was talking about, could not have been more pleasant, helpful and less pressurizing if he tried. The installers were excellent, clean and efficient, the electrician was outstanding, even fitting the inverter in a tight, under-stairs cupboard at my request so I can read the figures at the end of each day (so sad)! The administration team were a delight! They could not have been more helpful. They promised both systems to be completed within a week (I didn't believe they could do it) and where else do expect a reply to your email query at 9:30 in the evening!! Overall, an outstanding team! Post installation; Only a month's data so far(and some sunny days) but it all looks very, very promising - certainly at present, way above the government estimates. My only regret - I wish I'd have got South Downs Solar to do it last year.
South Downs Solar were recommended to us by a professional colleague after we had approached a number of local companies to instal a PV system on our roof. Their preliminary advice was very helpful, especially if (like most householders) you have no experience of such installlations. South Downs' quotaion provided alternatives and was no more expensive than their competitors. The installation was carried out efficiently and conscientiously, our neighbours were complimentary about the lack of disturbance and setting out problems were sorted out without fuss. We are very pleased with the finished result and can already monitor the savings achieved by our twelve panel array.
Very impressed with the whole process. SDS fitted me a 4kw system comprised on Suntech panels and an SMA inverter. Everything went as it should have done and the panels are performing superbly.
The only problem is now the first thing I do when I get in after work is see how much they have produced rather than say hello to the wife and kids!!
We chose SDS because of their professional and friendly approach (no pushy sales people!) and extensive knowledge of their market. Their competitive and detailed quote was sent to us in a timely manner. We were impressed and reassured by the time taken to discuss all possibilties with regards to choosing which solar panels to install and the final layout to ensure we had the best system within our budget. The installation team were conciencious, friendly and punctual. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend SDS to friends and family.
