FREE 'TASTER' swimming lessons in BEXHILL (by appointment only ) - Print Voucher
Silverdale Swim Schools (Bexhill-on-Sea) is well established and experienced in the provision of swimming lessons for children and teenagers and currently teaches aquatic skills to over 700 pupils per week. Free 'taster' lessons are available by arrangement.
Lessons are available for beginners (non swimmers), then through graduating intermediate ability groups up to advanced (very competent and talented swimmers). The three Silverdale swim schools are run in Bexhill-on-Sea, from three very adjacent pool locations. All of which are ideal for pupils travelling from within the Hastings, Rother and Wealden boroughs and from neighbouring East Sussex areas.
This registered Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) swim school offers a vast range of swimming lessons for children and teenagers of all abilities by operating the ASA's 'National Plan For Teaching Swimming' and the Southern Water 'Learn To Swim' scheme. Lessons are well managed and sensibly disciplined, safe, pro-active, rewarding and fun; structured to promote water skills, safety and fitness.
Silverdale is run by co principals Trevor and Sue Spinks who are extremely proud of their superb staff team and firmly believe that the ratio of staff to pupils is quite exceptional and far beyond the norm. They positively insist that child safety, competent teaching, friendliness, fun, confidence building, and a sense of personal achievement and self satisfaction, feature high in Silverdale.
With a large, happy and dedicated team of 56 staff members, Silverdale Swim Schools has an impressive, dedicated and enthusiastic team of ASA and STA qualified instructors. The instructors managing and directing lessons from the poolside are supplemented and supported by a vibrant team of highly skilled swimmers, employed as 'Teaching Assistants and Water Skills Demonstrators' who work in the water to assist, supervise and encourage the pupils whilst acting under the control and direction of the lead teacher(s) of each ability group.
All Silverdale staff are confident, constructive and positive when communicating with children of all ages and abilities, enthusiastically guiding them to become happy, safe and competent swimmers. RLSS NPLQ Lifeguards are on duty at all Silverdale lessons.
Trevor and Sue Spinks have both been involved in the teaching of swimming for many years. Both are efficient 'hands-on' partners in the day to day running of their ever expanding and popular swimming schools. Having previously both served as Police officers and both as East Sussex schools swimming teachers, Trevor (a former Senior School Governor) and his wife Sue are very experienced in teaching and managing children and young people. Both are more than capable of managing and supervising the safety, well being, and swimming development of their many pupils.
A minimum joining age of rising 4 years exists for young children wishing to begin lessons and an 'Early Bird' waiting list exists to enable children to be registered early so that they may be given a priority place as they approach 4 years of age.
SSS is always keen to hear from NPLQ Lifeguards for casual work.
Reece has made such good progress and loves to go each week to his lesson. Considering he used to be nervous in the water the difference in him now is unreal, he has made such good progress and his confidence in the water has just got better and better. The staff are very friendly, organised, professional, good individual attention, and just provide a brilliant overall service. I am very happy and would definately recmommend to others :).
My daughter Evie has been swimming since birth, it's an important life skill we wanted her to learn early.
Evie has been at silverdale for approximately one year - she is 5 and is able to swim front crawl, back stroke, breast stroke and butterfly.... Thanks to the encouragement and high adult to child ratios this swim school uses. I looked around at lots of local swim schools but this is by far the best in the area... My 18 month old son is already on the waiting list! If your looking for friendly, professional, experienced teaching then silverdale is the swim school for you!
My daughter was afraid of water before she come to your swim school. I'm very pleased with her progress can't fault the swim school all staff are polite and very patient with all pupils. In the few months that my daughter has Been swimming she has overy come her fear of water and is doing really well and has moved on to a higher level.
I have been so impresed and pleased with my daughers swimming lessons, she has just moved up after a term, we were with a different company but I felt she wasnt getting anywhere so we moved to silverdale, my daughter acualy looks forward to her lessons now. I really feel she is improving every week.
Can't fault this swimming school. Great adult to child ratios, excellent teaching with the instructors also monitored to ensure no child develops bad swimming habits. Children regularly rewarded for progress.
I have 2 children at the school and both have made brilliant progress with their swimming. They have both gained a lot of confidence in the water and look forward to their lesson each week, I think this is down to the lovely friendly staff who put them at ease.
I have been delighted with the special 1 to 1 support my son has Daniel has received from Silverdale. He has complex special needs and has been supported by Jessica Doorey, a level 1 teacher. She has been so patient and encouraging and Daniel absolutely loves his swimming lessons. This week he didn't want his lesson to end!
I'm surprised how quickly my daughter has improved her strokes and gained confidence in the water. She says she learns something new in every lesson and moves quickly up the levels. I would recommend Silverdale to everyone.
The ratio of staff to pupils is really high at Silverdale and having moved from another swim school, where he still couldn't swim after two years! my son has made incredible progress with Silverdale where he is now swimming like a fish and enjoying every moment of it.
We joined Silverdale Swim School in September 2012, our kids love the classes, I have been amazed at their progress, in fact our son is just about to move up a level. The ratio levels are excellent, in our daughters class there are teachers at both ends of the pool encouraging the children, with two or three teachers in the pool with the children, the supervision and teaching methods are of a very high standard. I have recommended Silverdale swim school to friends and will happily continue to do so.
