Sarah Dodenhoff Registered Osteopath - OsteopathSarah Dodenhoff, Structural, Cranial and Paediatric Osteopath has been practising Osteopathy in the Warrington area for 8 years. As well as treating adults for musculoskeletal problems, Sarah is a fully trained cranial osteopath. She also has a postgraduate degree in paediatric osteopathy, and a special interest in treating babies, children, and pregnant women. The clinic which is child friendly is situated in Warrington town centre close to parking and bus and train interchanges, and is open each weekday with 2 evening clinics. There is a second osteopath and 2 remedial massage therapists.
Sarah uses both structural and cranial osteopathy techniques to help relieve musculo-skeletal problems such as back and neck pain, sports injuries and whiplash. Cranial osteopathy is useful for treating pregnant women, older people, babies and children. It helps conditions such as migraine, headaches, sinus and asthma, tinnitus, and aches and pains in pregnancy. New mum and baby checks are also offered.
In children it helps with many conditions and learning difficulties including autism and ADHD, cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Having qualified with a BSc(Hons) in Osteopathy, Sarah followed this with a course in Cranial Osteopathy, which is a very subtle type of treatment, suitable for older people, babies and children and pregnant women. It helps with conditions such as migraine, tinnitus, sinus, asthma and jaw problems.
She then completed a two year postgraduate Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy and has a special interest in treating babies and children. The birth process can cause many problems which respond well to osteopathy, and it also helps colic, Autism, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and flat head syndrome.
Catherine Wasik, Registered Osteopath and Medical Herbalist also works within the Clinic, offering adults both structural and cranial osteopathy techniques.
Osteopathy is a safe approach to health care which looks at the whole patient, not simply treating the problem but looking at all the factors contributing to the disturbed state of natural health. With a highly developed sense of touch to identify any points of weakness or strain throughout the body the osteopath carries out treatment using manipulation, soft tissue stretching, rhythmic joint movements and gentle releasing techniques.
Two Massage Therapists, Jennie Walton and Vicky Taylor, offer Remedial and Sports Massage within the clinic, which can also be used alongside osteopathic treatment where necessary, as both complement each other well. Jennie and Vicky both trained in Remedial Massage Therapy at the Northern Institute of Massage in Bury, Vicky specialises in Sports Massage and Jenny offers Thermal Auricular therapy using Hopi Ear Candles. A variety of techniques are used to relax, stretch and reinvigorate affected tissues, helping to reduce pain and restore both health and mobility.
Registered Osteopath Sarah Dodenhoff opened the Bold Street based clinic to offer osteopathy not just to adults but for babies and children. Sarah gained broad experience in both structural and cranial osteopathy, whilst working in her own practise and within osteopathic clinics in Warrington, around Cheshire and the Wirral, and from working in the neonatal unit and children's ward of a London hospital, and a children's osteopathic clinic. She is one of only a few osteopaths with a postgraduate qualification in Paediatric Osteopathy (DPO) in the North West.
