From The Edinburgh Hat Studio, Sally-Ann Provan creates elegant modern millinery and accessories with vintage echoes for clients across Scotland and Europe for special occasions, bridal, the races, and opera and television companies.
Her hats have graced heads at society galas at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, catwalks at London Fashion Week, and the Royal Enclosure at Royal Ascot, and one of her designs was modelled by Jennifer Wayne, songwriter/ artist (and grand-daughter of film legend John Wayne) at 'Dressed To Kilt' in New York in April 2011. She is Scottish Opera’s milliner and other clients include The BBC and Scottish Ballet. Her work and inspirations are featured in two books - 'A Girl's Guide to Vintage' book by Lynne McCrossan, and 'Handmade In Britain' by Piyush Suri.
Having a bespoke hat or headpiece designed and handmade is a special experience and takes all of the stress out of trying to find the right hat, in the right size and the right colour. You can try on some of the hats whilst sipping tea in the privacy of The Edinburgh Hat Studio and you have undivided attention.
Consultations can also be done in by phone, email and skype.
A selection of pieces are also available to buy and to order from Sally’s online boutique where new designs are constantly being introduced.
