Since 1984, RTS Ltd have provides comprehensive, specialist management and consultancy advice. This is backed up by contracting services, on all aspects of woodland and timber management, from design, establishment and maintenance through to the production, distribution and marketing of round timber. Projects involve private woodlands, powerlines, windfarms and golf courses.
The company now comprises a staff of five professionally qualified foresters, two forestry foremen and a workforce of ten regular forest maintenance staff. In addition the company regularly engages a large number of Perth and Kinross based forestry contractors to assist in delivery of an expanding timber harvesting and woodland management programme. RTS has individual or corporate membership of most of the recognised forestry organisations including the Institute of Chartered Foresters, FTA, RSFS, Scottish Rural Property Business Association, CONFOR and Forest Contractors Association. RTS operates in five, often overlapping, divisions.
Forest Management includes management of commercial, conservation and recreational woodlands.
Rural Land and Tree Care includes tree planting and establishment, and hard and soft landscaping.
RTS is responsible for large areas of forest management in Scotland for a diverse client base including private estates, and organisations such as the Woodland Trust and SNH.
RTS acts as forestry consultants to both SSE on the proposed Beauly to Denny Interconnector, and ScottishPower on the Anglo-Scottish and Northern Ireland Interconnectors, and were appointed contractors and project managers for the clearance of trees on both OHLs.
They have consulted, contracted and project managed at Whitelee, Blacklaw, and Cruach Mhor windfarms, currently working at Drumtee Windfarm.
The company supplies conditioned woodchips that are used in biomass boilers and provide effecient heat energy, comparing very favourably with fossil fuels. The woodchips are conditioned to agreed moisture content levels, and dimensions, and supplied to the customer from the purpose built conditioned wood fuel processing and storage facility near Crieff. The woodchips are suitable for both wet and dry boiler systems, and are available for delivery directly from stock.
The company is managed by a board of directors who have worked within the Forest industry for many years.
