Operating from Aldwinians Rugby Club, Audenshaw (Manchester), RoadRider School of Motorcycling provides motorcycle training (CBT, DAS, Restricted, Advanced) to students throughout Manchester. Established in 2007, the instructors have over 20 years combined experience in the Motorbike Training business.
The company is managed by Alex Walker and Alex Romano who have been passionate about motorbikes for many years. The guys are more than capable of taking good care of students, having established their own company after previously working for another large motorcycle training company in Manchester.

RoadRider teaches students all year round on new bikes and scooters (insurance is included). With use of the rugby club car park for initial training/slow manoeuvres with training by fully qualified instructors, the training is designed to give students experience and confidence on a bike, to be aware of hazards and most of all to be safe on the road.

The company teach basic to advanced training, featuring compulsory basic training (CBT), restricted access, direct access (DAS), 'Back to Biking' and advanced training. As everyone learns at a different pace depending on confidence and skills, the estimated days of training required for each student can be advised following CBT or initial evaluation. Training is available Monday to Friday.

With 2 enthusiastic instructors, RoadRider School of Motorcycling has a professional team, qualified to teach to direct access and advanced levels.

Had never ridden a bike before but after 2 half days took my CBT and now busy training for my direct access. Both Alexs are great and are especially patient and calming when they are chatting to you when you're out on the road. Quite rhe opposite of my unnerving experience in Germany where all you get told is when you have done something wrong… ! Simply excellent! Looking forward to being back a in October! Read More

Hi Everyone.

My name is Andy, 33 years old.

I had never ridden a motorcycle in my life, until I completed my CBT with Road Rider on 12/05/14.

Being so impressed with the quality and methods of tuition, I decided to book my DAS course on the very same day, and purchased a Honda CBF125 the following day.

Passed Theory - 19/05/14.
Commenced 3.5 days training - 3/06/14.
Passed Module 1 DAS - 15/06/14.
Passed Module 2 DAS -3/07/14 (all first time).

I can only describe the whole experience as fantastic, both Alex's were very patient with me, and tailored the tuition to my specific needs. Teaching me skills for life in a fun way, not just training me to pass the tests.

I cannot recommend Road Rider highly enough to anyone who is thinking of learning to ride a bike.

Thanks again guys.

Andy Mac.

I highly recommend practising with Road Rider. I have completed all my training over the past 2.5 years with Road Rider who have been extremely helpful. Even after having a debilitating accident halfway through, they helped me regain my confidence on the bike (once recovered). They showed much patience and optimism when I doubted my own abilities at passing. The 2 instructors (Alex and Alex) have 2 different learning styles demonstrating both a chilled out and vigilant approach. (Like good cop bad cop ;)). Haha only joking but both extremely helpful which got me where I needed to be. Just want to say thanks again; also, it's much better having a bigger bike! Vic :)x. Read More

Passed my A2 with these guys back in Jan/Feb 14. Very pleased with them. They will adapt their teaching methods to the individual and mainly, will teach you how to ride a bike, not just pass the DSA Mod 1 + 2. Very friendly bunch. Would recommend them to anyone who is thinking about learning to ride. I've not been off two wheels since!

Completed CBT and restricted licence with Roadrider. Had never been on a bike before and was put at ease by Alex's patience and excellent tuition. He was able to see what area's I needed to improve and give specific advice after struggling with parts of the mod 1 test.

Alex seemed to want to teach you to be a safe rider for the rest of your time on a bike and not just whilst doing your test.

Fantastic riding school ran by great people.

I had never ridden a bike before especially with gears and was a little worried, riding a bike was something I had always wanted to do but for reasons never got around to it. I looked around and was told about Roadrider. I must say this company is just simply brilliant!! All of the instructors are very professional and know exactly what they are talking about. I passed all my tests first time and now on a Honda VFR 800 which I never thought was possible! I would recommend Roadrider to anyone!! Read More

I've been training for these guys for years, I've completed 2 CBTS (2 years each) and module one currently, and in a week module 2, the training they give is exceptional, they make you feel very comfortable when riding and don't pressure you or make you feel small. Even if I found a cheaper riding school id still go to these guys. They are that good. Highly recommended, they also are very honest with the training that you need, as in they won't book you in and charge you for extra lessons that you don't need. Thanks for reading. Read More

Excellent reviews proven results so I gave em a quick email, within a week I was enrolled for my DAS a bit nervous but both Alex's put me at ease. These guys worked magic and I got my licence 1st time with little previous experience, could not recommend these guys enough. 2 different training styles which work really well, riding within a fun environment, as a bonus training here has made me safer more aware car driver! You won't be disappointed. Read More

After 33 years I wanted to ride again and take my test so I did my CBT in January 2012 with RoadRider. Despite my ineptitude both Alex's were patient and I got my certificate. Alex Walker gave me an honest assessment and advised that I ride a 125 for a few months to gain experience before taking the DAS. That's what I did before coming back (after a knee ligament injury had interrupted my plans) to do my Mod 1 and 2 in April 2013, doing most of my road work with Alex Romano.
As others have said, the difference with these guys is that they teach you to ride and ride safely, not just to pass a test. Both are friendly, but professional and impart information to you so that it sticks in your mind. There are still times when I'm out that I hear a voice in my ear telling me what I should do.
Passing my test has completely changed my life and my outlook. It wouldn't have been possible without the Alex's. You may find instructors that do cheaper tuition but you won't find any that do it as well or as enjoyably as these do.

What's brilliant about Roadrider, is that they don't just teach you the basics of riding, take your money and send you on your way. They actually care about your safety in your riding future. They do this by teaching you in a way you will remember the lesson they were trying to teach.

It's been a couple of years now since I took my restricted test with them, but I also took my CBT with them, and even now, I still occasionally hear Alex's voice in my head saying "It's not a disco, turn your indicator off". A simple funny comment, but lesson learned, I always make sure if I'm not turning, or have just turned, I'm not confusing other road users by having a rave with a flashing orange light. Read More

Great instructors and great school. Both alex's are exceptional instructors that not only teach you the correct way to ride but give you the essential skills you need to set out on your own after your test. Most other schools just teach you how to pass your test but at roadrider you learn a lot more. They are very friendly and have a good laugh with you to keep you calm. They are very encouraging and I could not recommend them enough. If anyone round the manchester and surrounding areas is looking at passing there bike test or even doing there cbt, roadrider should be there first port of call.
A big thankyou to both alex's.
Nick.
