Riverford Home Delivery - Organic Food Delivery CompanyRiverford Home Delivery deliver boxes of fresh, organic fruit and vegetables to customers all over the country and they have recently launched their award winning box scheme in Greenford.
The box scheme was started in 1993 by Guy Watson who grew up on the family farm in the River Dart Valley in Devon. He converted the farm to organic status in 1990 as he hated handling pesticides and wanted to work more positively with nature.
As part of the South Devon Organic Producer group, a co-operative of 13 family run farms in South Devon, Riverford Organic Vegetables share machinery, labour and knowledge of growing organic vegetables. By planning the cropping together they are able to grow 85 different varieties of vegetables to keep the boxes interesting all year.
The box contents change on a weekly basis and are published on the website every Friday for the following week. There is no need to commit to a regular order and customers are able to dip in and out of the scheme according to their individual needs. There are many other items available to order alongside the boxes such as cheese, wine, chocolate and of course extra fruit and vegetables. Customers can order online or by calling their local distributor.
