Quality Bagpipes - Musical InstrumentQuality Bagpipes was started in 1990 by Neil Manderson and Dave Wardell. The workshop in Edinburgh is where Kilberry Bagpipes are hand crafted and dispatched to customers around the world.
Dave Wardell is Kilberry's Head Bagpipe Maker. Neil Manderson is the managing director of the company. Both have played pipes since a young age and in fact used to compete together in the same school band. Both Neil and Dave were tutored by Callum McPhee, a very respected teacher of bagpipe music from the 'old school. '
Over the years, both have continued to play pipes and, until recently, were competing at the highest grade one level. Grade One bands they have competed for include Shotts and Dykehead Polkemmet and Dysart and Dundonald.
A range of pipes from other makers is on offer, including Peter Henderson Bagpipes, R G Hardie Bagpipes, McCallum Bagpipes and Wallace Bagpipes.
As well as highland pipes, the company also sells Small Pipes, Chamber Pipes, Learning kits, practice chanters, cases, reeds, bags and booklets. Quality Bagpipes' clients are found all over the world, from as close to home as Edinburgh and as far afield as Japan and include beginners, enthusiasts, competition players and professionals.
