PURE FUNK DANCE COMPANY.
COMPANY MISSION: To inspire, challenge, and nurture committed young performers.
To be a professional platform of growth for talented young dancer/choreographers.
Founded in 2005 by current Artistic Director, Amy Beveridge, Pure Funk is a dance performance group well known for developing adaptable dancers and choreographers in the Bournemouth and Poole area.
Pure Funk’s passion and focus is commercial dance, and the company's choreographic style works around the variety of strengths the dancers develop, often fusing classical, commercial, contemporary, and street.
Over the years Pure Funk has become a strong platform for budding choreographers and performers, many of whom have gone on to teach, run their own dance organisations, or pursue careers in the professional industry.
Pure Funk Dance Co sessions are held at Winton YMCA Dance Studios:
Seniors 15-21yrs - Thursdays 6:45-9:15pm.
Juniors 9-14yrs (Girl Got Funk) - Mondays 5-7pm.

NEW from 2012.
As part of the company class sessions Pure Funk now offers training in the brand new UDO Syllabus, the first street dance syllabus written and delivered by industry professionals. Launched April 2012, it is for those who wish to improve in all hip hop styles by learning technique and foundations. The syllabus works perfectly alongside Pure Funk's performance work, aiding individual progression in every dancer.

My children have learnt so many types of streetdance from these classes, and I would highly recommend Pure Funk for kids and adults wanting to learn streetdance and have some fun with dance! If you get a chance to check out their yearly shows at Poole Lighthouse, its well worth it - as good as any Streetdance film you have seen!!

All the classes have provided an atmosphere where you feel comfortable to try new things and you leave feeling as though you have really achieved something! The performance group are a very talented, professional and fun group I was honoured to provide conditioning workouts for!

classes and also belong to their performance
company. The advanced adult classes which
are run on a monday night are always of a
high standard consisting of a thorough warm
up and challenging routine. The routines are
different every week and are based around
the hip hop style but always slightly vary in
style. Every week without fail i leave that
dance class with a sense of achievement and
i always have a really enjoyable time.
As i said i also belong to the performance
group which you get in to through an
audition, we perform at numerous events
across bournemouth and have rehearsals
every sunday. The rehearsals are always
conducted in a very professional manner and
we get allot done in that time. Pure funk is
run by two very inspirational and passionate
people called Amy and Exlis. They are both
exceptionally talented individuals and good
at what they do but aside from that they are
supportive towards all of us and are always
approachable.

| 5.05 5.0 out of 5 - Pure Funk is an outstanding dance company and caters for all abilities whether you are a complete beginner wanting to try something new or a more advanced dancer wanting to pursue more advanced training. The leaders are committed and enthusiastic and very supportive and believe in giving young people opportunities to perform at various events and shows building confidence and musicality. I would thoroughly recommend them to anybody looking to start classes in commercial dance as it has built up my self confidence and given me opportunities that i will remember forever.

No one has been more nurturing, friendly or supportive as Amy and Exlis has been to me and my family and I have thoroughly enjoyed the performance opportunities I have been given.
