Based in Consett, Puppy Steps offers dog walking services and pet sitting to individuals throughout Consett, Stanley and surrounding areas. The company has many years experience in the pets and animals business.
The company is managed by Michelle Reed. She has many years experience in the care of animals. Experience includes three different qualifications in animal care and a diploma in pet obedience. She is currently studying for a diploma in canine science. Michelle has an equivalent to a first aid certificate for dogs. This is known as an animal aiders certificate. Hopefully this gives potential clients the confidence that beloved pets are in safe hands.
The company provides a reliable service which tries to suit the individual needs of each client.
Services include:
Dog walking - standard walk lasts approximately 35-40 minutes, longer walk lasts just over an hour and shorter walks are available for elderly dogs and puppies under the age of 6 months old.
Dog boarding - dogs in michelle's care will receive lots of love and attention and at least 2 walks per day. Dogs must be well socialised and up to date with vaccinations.
Cat visiting - cats can be visited 2-3 times per day depending on requirements. Cats will be fed, groomed, health checked and played with. Your house can be made to look 'lived in'. Bins can be emptied, post can be picked up and plants can be watered.
Small animals - your small furries can be visited in your home or brought to michelle's home to be looked after.

She has been an invaluable source of support and knowledge and has really helped us with training. We can't recommend her highly enough, we don't know what we would have done without her!

It's not surprising - she walks him, plays with him, helps train him and he has the company of other dogs. As a result he is a happy, well socialised dog - and I can go to work knowing he is safe and happy. Michelle is well qualified and understands dogs and their behaviour - I can't believe my luck in finding her! And the icing on the cake? Archie comes home absolutely knackered - so I get a quiet evening full of cuddles! Thanks Michelle - you're a star - well 5 really.

I was a little concerned at leaving him for the first time as he is deaf and wasn't quite sure how he would take to someone else looking after him. However on meeting Michelle and knowing how much she cares for animals I was put at ease and had no concerns at all on leaving him. In the main it is nice to go away on holiday knowing that my cat is being looked after by someone who I find very capable, reliable and trustworthy. I can therefore highly recommend this service.

Michelle took on our 9 mth. old Irish wolfhound (8 stone and very boisterous!)without batting an eyelid) and provided an extremely good and reliable service. Our dog loves her and we are more than happy to use her service again and recommend it to others

The pup is picked up and dropped off with Michelle having a key to our house,
We have had some great tips and the pup loves being with Vini Michel's Dog.

| 5.05 5.0 out of 5 - I have used puppy steps for over 2 years now and have never had a reason to complain. Michelle is always willing to help in a crisis and I trust her with my 2 dogs. i know they are well looked after when in her care. The prices are reasonable too.

Knowing that she is coming in everyday to walk Oz my staffie I can go to work reassured that he is being excercised, and looked after, she has also boarded Oz for me and sent me updates on how he is. She is friendly, caring and has a genuine love of dogs. Thanks Michelle you're a star.

I looked into dog walking services when we were thinking about getting a puppy and I am so pleased I found and got in touch with Michelle at Puppy Steps. She came to talk to us and I felt very reassured and happy about leaving our puppy in her hands. I'm pleased our puppy gets the walks but also the socialisation of spending time with other dogs. I have found Michelle to be totally reliable and I also feel she cares about our puppy, which for me is so important and means a lot.
