Penumbra’s suppliers are based in several countries including Morocco, India, Thailand and Bali. Importing directly from suppliers within each location – no middlemen involved – so products can be offered at very competitive prices.
Very close relationships with all suppliers – many of the items displayed are unique and bespoke to Penumbra, having been specifically commissioned.
Wherever possible, suppliers are selected who use raw materials from sustainable and ecologically sound sources and have acceptable employment policies, pay levels, etc.
The owners have personally travelled to meet many of the suppliers in order to better understand the way they do things, and to 'customise' the products bought from them.
