More than 40 years nursing experience in the NHS forms the basis of the work of Owens Therapeutic Services Ltd. It is a Complementary Nursing Consultancy for Cancer Patients and their Carers, offering a holistic approach to cancer care and stress management. Both oncology nursing and complementary therapy skills are used to empower people and enable them to find their own coping strategies. Techniques used include cognitive behavioural therapy and hypnotherapy to help clients. Set-Up in 1996, the business is located in Kilburn (York).

Jacky Owens is a highly qualified nurse having achieved State Registration in 1964. She built on this with a degree in nursing, oncology diploma, counselling skills and an MSc in Clinical and Applied Hypnosis. Throughout her career she also embraced some complementary therapy techniques and gained diplomas in Massage and then Aromatherapy, both of which have some science underpinning their use in cancer care. More recently she is able to offer Healing having witnessed the effects in a NHS hospital. A full cv and copies of all certificates is available on request. Jacky Owens is affiliated to the following Professional bodies:
RCN - Royal College for Nursing
BRCP - British register of Complementary Practitioners (Aromatherapy, Hypnosis and Massage)
RSM - Section of Hypnosis and Psychosomatic Medicine at The Royal Society of Medicine. Jacky is the President Elect for the Section taking office June 2009-June 2011
BSCAH - British Society of Clinical and Academic Hypnosis - Jacky sits on the council for this body and is accredited by them.
ESH - European Society of Hypnosis in Psychotherapy.

Many people need help to deal with the stress in their lives and whilst primarily a service for cancer patients and their carers, some related issues particularly stress respond well to the techniques offered.
