My first experience at Ora Salon was through an initial booking offer with Groupon. I was tentative as I have very fine delicate hair and androgenic alopecia (so need good quality short styles that hide this). My previous stylist moved country and I had tried a couple of other salons where I was dissatisfied with the service and/or the result (it taking a LONG time for my hairstyle to grow out before I could do anything about it). During my first consultation with both Or (for the colour) and Massimo (for the style and cut), I explained about my hair and what sort of cut/colour I would like to approach, and where I was prepared to go initially. I felt that they were both attentive, friendly and reassuring and were in agreement about my taking it slowly in terms of change, especially with the colour. This was a deciding factor in my staying - as the consultation is crucial to ascertain if my needs are being heard and also if the staff are responding with sensitivity and professionalism, and showing they can work effectively together as a team. I was extremely nervous on my first visit, but they did instil confidence in me about their abilities, just via the consultation. I therefore went ahead with the appointment. I came out of the salon extremely satisfied with my first haircut and colour, and I booked my second appointment prior to leaving the salon. I have had approx.7 or more visits since then and each time we have progressively moved on to different styles and colours, as I have grown more confidence in them and I like to re-style and re-vamp quite often! I have been happy with all of the various and highly creative styles approached and have always received lots of compliments from friends and family and work colleagues. More recently I have gone platinum blond which was really carefully done in respect to the applied bleaching process and attentive monitoring (low % peroxide with very slow development in order not to damage or break my hair - as said, it is very fine). As time goes by, with any staff/client relationship, rapport and communication develops further still, and thus haircuts and colour are more in tune with personal taste. It is always important to communicate effectively one's requirements and taste with staff as otherwise they have to work on their own initiative, trying to draw information from the client, and so, on occasion, clients may not be happy with the result if they have not adequately communicated their wishes, even if the end result is a lovely new style! It is a two-way relationship in effective communication always. However, I have complete trust in their creative ideas and enjoy mutual excitement about trying something new! They are true artists and really enjoy their work! I previously dated a Vidal Sassoon Trainer whom I assisted in opening his own salon through the duration of our relationship, so I know a quality stylist/colourist when I come across one (thus I am extremely picky and I have actually walked out of a salon following the consultation process before, because they were not listening and did not have the range of products required!). First impressions count!
I have just had one of the best cuts/colour to date in fact and on the same day/evening receiving many compliments from colleagues and some strangers too! Or and Massimo have a lifetime customer!!
On the whole I have found all the staff attentive, friendly and welcoming. It is a really pleasant atmosphere in the salon and I always feel pampered and look forward to my visits very much!! :)
I would not recommend Ora Salon to anyone ; they do not train their staff properly as after being a customer for over 6 years they managed to ruin my hair colour due to the incompetence of a new member of staff. I hardly got an apology from their Manager and not even all of my money back. Completely unacceptable. The damage was done and there is no excuse for it; I wasn't even consulted before a decision had been made to make changes to my hair colour;I would refuse any offer to correct the issue as I felt I couldn't trust Ora any longer. Definitely a beautiful and flattering " canary yellow" hair colour which you can only give your customers when you have over 6 years experience !! I was truly shocked to come across such a disrespectful and most unprofessional attitude after being a regular customer for such a long time.Not surpised to see other customers have posted similar negative reviews along the same lines. I do wish you good luck with your business because remember bad news travel faster than good ones ..

As a long-standing client of the salon, it was our priority to ensure that your usual high level of service was maintained following the departure of your regular Colourist. Although the member of staff who handled your colour is new to the salon, he has over six years experience and I have full confidence in his abilities. I strongly disagree with your accusation that your hair colour was ruined; as we discussed at the time, we believed the tone to be extremely flattering and contrary to your perception. After six years with the same Colourist, it is inevitable that a new technician will produce different results. Despite our belief that the hair colour was beautiful, we not only offered to change your colour according to your wishes free of charge, but when you refused this we also offered a full refund which you accepted. Although I remain puzzled by your review and am sad to lose your custom, I wish you all the best in the future.

Salon is basic, not a luxury feel whatsoever. Stylists go noisily up and down the stairs constantly and appear to smoke in the bathroom just steps away from you. No matter what type of beauty treatment I am getting I don't appreciate my technician smoking during my service. Terrible communication between me and stylist Or. He didn't listen carefully to what type of color I wanted and explained that he would have to do the highlights his way. It is not the color effect I wanted but overall is a decent color job for an effect I didn't want. I now have to wait for my hair to grow out for several months before I'll be able to get it back to the way I'd like it. Shampooing was not relaxing as water poured down my back and in my ears and the water sprayer bounced around loudly in the bowl. If this was a hotel it would be no more than a 3 star. Lack of attention to detail would be my overall description for most aspects of this salon.
After trying several salons in London, I found Ora salon. I've had such great experiences every time I go. Everyone there is so friendly. Both Ana and Chika have coloured my hair- they encouraged me to give up my brown colour and go for copper. It's my new regular colour- I wont ever go back. They have gained my trust as a customer so when they offer new suggestions, I know it will be better than what I had in mind.
I have loads of short hair and it is not easy to cut. I've gone home from other salons thinking it's a fine cut; at least it wasn't a disaster. However, Massimo recently has cut my hair. I love that he cut my hair to work with the way it naturally falls rather than a way that I'm supposed to make it go. It doesn't feel to heavy or in my face. There's a lot of texture as well. He's taken the time to give me some tips on how to properly dry my hair at home so that I can easily achieve the look I want.
I do enjoy changing my hair style often and staying with current trends without going extreme. I need my hair to match whatever my mood is so I appreciate that they help me achieve a versatile and effortless look. I love that my hair is so much healthier when I leave and the products smell amazing.
'Reasonable haircut, awful colour'. I had a haircut and colour with a Groupon deal. The haircut was done by Paula and was reasonable, the colour was done by Oren and was awful - it was exactly what I said I didn't want when we discussed it beforehand. I ended up having to pay £60 extra for highlights that look awful. I am going back tomorrow to get it fixed up with Paula.
My experience with ORA Salon is very positive. All staff is very friendly and professional: from the receptionists to the directors. I have been there just a couple of times, and in both occasions I had a cut & style with Ana. She is very professional, very attentive to my requests and very good at coming up with solutions / styles that suit me. I highly recommend Ana and ORA salon.
I have tried so many salons before and this is the only one that ticks all the boxes! Customer service is perfect, head massage is amazing and the haircuts are second to none. For the last 4 years I had my hair cut with Pierot and could not recommend him enough!!!!
I have been visiting Ora for 5 years now and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. I like to keep up with the latest trends and Massimo always helps me achieve this. I look forward to visiting Ora as they give excellent customer service and you always feel valued as an individual. Not to mention the head messages are to die for! I always leave Ora feeling like I have just stepped out of a magazine and I have lot count how many people have asked 'who cuts your hair?'. I not only like to change the cut on a regular basis but also my colour. I have been every colour imaginable in the last 5 years from Blonde to black and even pink. My hair though has always stayed in great condition. If you want a hair cut or/and colour that makes people go WOW. Ora is the place to go.
The salon is nice, clean and very welcoming. the people were nice and friendly and easy to talk too. I went in for a trim and the hairdresser took into consideration of what I wanted each step of the way, she was very polite and helpful. she gave me not only a trim, but a versatile hairstyle which works for the sort of person I am. she went step by step, making sure I was happy with the result. I would recommend anyone to visit the salon, they're easy going and will give you the haircut you desire! Emily
After discovering Ora Salon on Groupon, I booked an appointment for as soon as possible (My hair was not in a health state). When I arrived at the salon the woman at the front desk stopped her casual conversation to greet me and get my details. It is clear that this place values customer service.
Ana,One of the director's in the salon came over to greet me as I was looking for inspiration out of there many magazines. She was extremely friendly and chatty (something you don't get alot) Then we began discussing my thoughts on how I would prefer my hair to look. I stupidly did not bring pictures, So of the top of my head I tried to describe what i wanted,Ana help me giving me a few idea's. Once we finished she ask one of the assistance to wash my hair, which was fantastic!
She did a wet cut and continually asked questions about the cutting progress, my life, also if I wanted to drink. As my coffee arrived, Ana began applying a Bio Silk which when she blowdry made my hair shine and healthy (for once)
She was fantastic, I would highly recommend her!
Everything was perfect, to top it off the lady at reception proceeded to give me discounts for money off various services.
I have found my salon! if you still in-between salon, please try Ora Salon you wont be disappointed.
