5.0 out of 5 | Despite our careful affordability calculations and sensible nature, the current climate was causing us to lose faith in our ability to secure a favorable mortgage and the property we had set our hearts on. Our bank, HSBC, with whom we have banked for 20 years treated us terribly and wasted our time with promotional rates that didn't exist when it came to application; eventually turning us down for a mortgage they had spent a week advising us to take! We also consulted a string of independent advisors who seemed incapable of following through with proposals in the constantly changing market. After a recommendation from our solicitors, we challenged Calvin at Oak Tree with our predicament. He not only found us an affordable, credible and fair mortgage, but also restored our damaged egos! We met Calvin Oram early on a Saturday morning (he went out of his way to fit us in). Having talked through our requirements, Calvin not only recommended which mortgage to take out, but sorted out all the paperwork and financial details. We had to jump through quite a few hoops and over a few hurdles to secure this mortgage and Calvin was always there with a return e-mail to sort things out. His advice and help was invaluable and took away a lot of the stress and anxiety and I would have no hesitation in recommending Oak Tree to anyone (and already have!)

So I went on the hunt for small independent mortgage company, with a view to finding a company that would tick all my boxes for its honesty, trustworthiness, friendliness and ability to service your needs, with minimum fuss and maximum results! We got all of this and more at Oak Tree Mortgages. Its really not worth the effort going to high street lenders when you have such great companies like Oak Tree available. You actually feel like a customer when Calvin greets you at their shop front, not a number. Calvin's advice was superb, and we even came away with a useful contact in the field of IFA's! If his contact is anything like Calvin and Oak Tree Mortgages, its bound to be worth checking out. I'll always go back to Oak Tree Mortgages, why?, because they cared about my needs, I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone I know, or don't know for that matter!
