Nicola Grimshaw-Mitchell is passionate about all weddings, however big or small and stocks a stunning collection of imported Italian albums now with the option to include your digital negatives. Two photographers (Nicola and her second-shooter) attend every wedding ensuring all the action is captured from all angles.
Each image taken receives careful detailed editing to ensure the couple have a complete set of beautiful, creative images to treasure forever.
Nicola is a qualified member of the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) and has been a dedicated wedding photographer for nearly ten years. Due to popular demand Nicola has recently branched out into contemporary portraiture, Trash the Dress and Boudoir (FYEO) shoots.

5.0 out of 5 | Nicola was the official photographer (and unofficial extra member of the wedding party) for our wedding in May 2008 at Knowsley Hall; I'd seen the wedding photos of a friend of a friend on Nicola's website and really loved the style and the way she captured the spirit of the day.
With regards to service, Nicola was a fantastic help in planning the day (e.g. showing some of her favourite locations at the venue and advising of things to check with the venue staff) and was also wonderful on the big day. From the photos, she was evidently in all of the right places at just the right time, yet was amazingly inconspicuous and made everybody feel relaxed.
After 30 years of considering myself completely unphotogenic, I'm truly delighted that she managed to make me look so (naturally!) glamorous in the photos, she really has worked magic (or miracles!). Somebody in work actually asked if she worked for OK Magazine as they thought the photos were so good! The photos are amazing, and capture the intimacy of the ceremony and the spirit of the day beautifully, whilst also capturing the grandeur of the venue in a way that non of the family snap shots have. We will treasure the photos and our memories.
Just a few comments as regards cost and value for money; yes there are cheaper photographers available, but from a rather exhaustive trawl of wedding fayres and on the internet, I thought that Nicola's prices were competitive. Having seen the results, I consider it money well spent. I've heard a lot of nightmare stories about wedding photographers who commandeer the bride & groom for large parts of the day and dictate events, or who have their 'signature shot' and decide that every couple will strike that catalogue pose regardless of how uncomfortable they feel, or who don't even consult before the wedding on the group shots you would like. In summary, you get what you pay for when it comes to wedding photos - of all the innumerable things to spend money on when planning a wedding, the photos are the one thing that you will actually keep after the big day when the flowers, favours and disco are long forgotten, so it is worth investing in the best you can afford.Angela (& Duncan)Thomas - 16 Jul 2008 |
5.0 out of 5 | Nicola was very approachable and professional at all times. Even on the wedding day Nicola helped out getting the flowergirls ready, this enabling her to get the shots that she wanted. Sometimes you forgot that Nicola was there, as she was very discreet and organised with the guests when taking the group pictures. The wedding album was presented very well and the layout was great too, as I was unsure how they should be situated. Nicola said to just leave it to her. 5.0 out of 5 | From the first phone call I made, to receiving our album, the service Nicola provided was outstanding!Nicola photographed our wedding in June 2008.Before the day We had a few appointments with Nicola and no stone was left unturned!She was very friendly and we discussed what type of photographs we wanted, who all the members of the wedding party were, who was related to who etc!We really felt that the package was individual to us. There were a range of packages/prices to chose from and there was certainly no pressure ,but we chose to go for the top package as I've had friends disappointed with their albums and photographer, and I know how much they've regretted their choice. Nicola came to my mums house to photograph me and my sister getting ready. I was nervous and running around like a headless chicken yet Nicola was just calm and quiet and really respected the situation!I hardly even knew she was there. In fact that's how it was all day. She was so polite and friendly with all the guests that everyone commented what a wonderful photographer she was.
I'm back from a fantastic honeymoon and we already have our album and all the extras!It is absolutely stunning!The quality of the album itself is fab never mind the photos!I don't even remember her taking half of the pictures!They are just so wonderful. She has captured the day perfectly and all the things we discussed before hand have been thoughtfully respected .All our friends and family love them and my mum has her very own album!
All I can say is choose your photographer carefully and don't scrimp!The end product is well worth it and its something you will treasure for life.

5.0 out of 5 | I was recommended to Nicola by a friend. Once I saw her wedding album I was totally convinced that Nicola would be just the right person to capture our big day!
There was an instant connection between Nicola, me and my now husband and we laughed alot from our very first meeting.
We chose a package before the big day but we were so over the moon with the proofs and the way Nicola had been with us on our big day that we upgraded our package at a very reasonable rate! It was the best thing we could ever have done as the comments from our friends and family have been amazing.

5.0 out of 5 | Nicola was our wedding photographer in December and I can honestly say that she was FABULOUS. So relaxed and friendly during the build up and unobtrusive, smiley and incredibly efficient on the day - we had so many comments about how nice she was from our guests!
The end result was just spectacular - i am so so happy with my photographs, they captured the day and the spirit of it perfectly. The best bit is the DVD slideshow of all the pics - i watch that more than the video!!!!
