New beginnings with Judith Charlton - Counselling ServiceNew beginnings is a counselling and psychotherapy practice, offering friendly, supportive and confidential therapy to individuals and couples in Greater Manchester. Judith Charlton BA (Hons), the counsellor, has 27 years experience in the education sector working with adolescents and adults as a Head of Department and a Pastoral Head of Year before training as a counsellor and psychotherapist. She practises at SMCP in Stockport and from her home in Bolton as well as at a Well Women's Centre and a local independent school.
Counselling and therapy can provide an environment in which individuals can develop and grow, work through issues and feel good about themselves by promoting a better understanding of the underlying causes of depression, stress, relationship difficulties and a variety of issues which affect health and well-being. All practice is supervised by a qualified trainer and supervisor and is confidential.
Judith Charlton has trained for 5 years at The Berne Institute in Transactional Analysis which is a broad based 'talking therapy'. She is working towards her MSc in Transactional Analysis and the award of CTA (Certified Transactional Analyst). She is also in training with the Northern College of Body Psychotherapy and Body Focus a professional development group in Knutsford. She has a Foundation Certificate in TA and a Counselling Certificate. She is a member of the ITA and the EATA (Institute for Transactional Analysis and The European Association for Transactional Analysis).
