With several years experience in music education, Music Shakers is a young business, offering classes for infants and young children to families. Founded in 2006, the business is offers weekly classes in Kings Heath, Birmingham.

Enabling families to share the joy of music and dance throughout the year, the organisation provides local people with tailored classes attuned to the developmental needs of young children. With an inviting and comfortable classroom to sing and play along with an experienced teacher, the service is intended to be relaxing and enjoyable. Parents have the opportunity to make new friends and socialise, with complimentary refreshments provided after class.

Music Shakers classes are led by Marcella Erskine, who has taught music classes for five years. She obtained her Master’s degree in Social Work from Hunter College, New York, where she specialised in group and community work. Marcella trained in dance at Colorado State University while obtaining a B. Sc. In Psychology, and has sung in choirs in Denver, and taught Denver Cooperative Preschool. She has provided music workshops to a variety of playgroups, nurseries and primary schools in Birmingham and participated in several early childhood music workshops.
