Company Profile
Tucked away in the charming rural village of Much Hadham, the Forge Museum has something for everyone. For the art connoisseur, there are 16th century wall paintings to admire. For those who enjoy things a little more hands on, come and see the blacksmith Richard Maynard in action making beautiful forged items and get a real taste of village life.
There has never been a better time to visit as the museum has recently re-opened after an injection of lottery cash. The enhanced museum includes new local history galleries, new exhibitions about the traditional forge and the origins of blacksmith.
The museum is owned by the Hertfordshire Building Preservation Trust who has been involved in the preservation of the county's heritage for over 45 years. They are a registered charity.
The museum provides local people with a range of activities and exhibitions and has a working forge, cafe and garden. The friendly staff and volunteers can take local history enquiries. The museums is designed to be fully accesible to wheelchairs and pushchairs.
