out of 5 | Mirefoot is a delightful secluded holiday self-catering complex of just four cottages, set in landscaped gardens with a tennis court. They are well-equipped, well-decorated, and spacious, with stunning Lake District views. Not walkable to pubs/villages unless as part of a ramble, but 10/15 minutes from either Kendal or Windermere. A real get away from it all break. |
out of 5 | Recently returned from a wonderful Christmas break at Shepherd's View, where we wanted for nothing in terms of comfort and equipment for our stay. Kate and Eldred made us feel most welcome without being intrusive, enabling us to have a quiet romantic holiday. We found the location ideal for dog-friendly walks, peace and quiet, and a feeling of seclusion even though only a short drive from Kendal. The foot of snow which fell during our stay was the icing on the Christmas cake - a perfect, picturesque rural retreat! |

out of 5 | We have just returned from a very nice (but slightly wet) week at Mirefoot Cottages. They are lovely and we would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone thinking of visiting the area. The cottage was warm, welcoming and well equipped - there was nothing more that we could have wanted. The welcome hamper was a great help on our arrival on Friday evening. The owners leave you to your own devices but if you do need them for anything, they respond quickly and deal with your query. We are looking forward to visiting again one day soon. (With our dog next time!) |

out of 5 | We stayed in Shepherds View and if possible it was even more gorgeous than it looked on the website. It was cosy and welcoming, with a fantastic kitchen and bathroom (my two favourite rooms of any house). I cannot praise our week enough. The location was perfect and the cottage made an amazing base. We met the owners on a couple of occasions and they were always cheery and welcoming, as well as having very polite children. We didnt have a single drop of the rain for the whole week and are already planning our return visit. I think Dougal enjoyed it as much, if not more, than we did. |
out of 5 | Mirefoot cottages was everything we were looking for and more. The location was fantastic and the cottage itself was exceptional - beautifully decorated, well stocked with essentials, with lots of thoughtful added extras. - a home away from home. We visited in the winter so it was very quiet - we were the only visitors, which suited us! Didn't see much of the owners, which was fine as everything we required or requested was available, and we had no queries or complaints, although we were made aware of how to get in touch if need be. Overall, a fantastic find - looking forward to a repeat visit when circumstances allow! |
