Based in Derby, Mehira's Jewels School of Bellydance provides excellent tuition in the beautiful art of Middle Eastern Dancing, commonly known as 'Belly Dance' to clients throughout Derby and the UK. Formed in 2005 the company has many years of experience in the mechanics of teaching belly dancing classes.
Owned by experienced professional performer - Diana Mehira who has been studying Egyptian, Turkish and Arabic cabaret, folk and traditional dance since 1998. Diana Mehira is trained in Fitness Management and Nursing and is an member of Equity.
Students will learn Diana Mehira's unique style of bellydance which is a fusion of many modern Middle Eastern styles and her own passion for great choreography and technique.

Helping women to develop in confidence and self esteem, empowering them to enjoy their lives throughout the year, the company provides local people with a professional belly dance tuition service, professional shows and events, solo performances, group performances, private tuition, hen parties and more. Using local dance studios and community halls and expert experience, the classes are intended to boost self esteem, increase fitness and flexibility and be all round great fun.

Mehira's Jewels School of Bellydance has a growing number of students, situated around Derby, including women of all ages from all walks of life. Students may start if accompanied by an adult from age 12 years, and there is no upper age limit. A reasonable level of fitness and mobility is required, although classes are tailored to suit different abilities and often people who suffer with complaints such as 'arthritis' notice an improvement in mobility after a few classes.

Dancing is usually done barefoot, although soft ballet style slippers are fine also. There is no need to 'show your belly', students wear leggings and t shirt to class, or a long skirt and top.

The studio is managed by Diana Mehira who has been teaching and performing in the Oriental Dance world for many years. Having previously been a nurse she is also a trained fitness instructor, Diana Mehira is well experienced to run the studio.

With well trained and experienced tutors visiting the studio and experienced owner, Diana Mehira, Mehira's Jewels School of Bellydance has a professional team, qualified to a high standard.
