This week (April 2013) MB Roofing have successfully completed a contract for chimney repair work plus the removal of substantial quantities of moss across the entire pitched roof areas of our detached house. The work was carried out throughout by Michael Blake himself and completed to my entire satisfaction even to the extent that he helped me rectify other issues with my chimney that were not in his scope of work. I would not hesitate to recommend Michael to anybody for this type of work, he was excellent value, professional and left the site completely clean with all rubbish removed throughout.
Efficient, quality and good value for money service. An excellent work ethos and appropriate care shown towards all people involved. Incredible knowledge of the subject and chooses the most appropriate for the job, without unnecessary and expensive gold-plating.
Our flat roof was overdue for replacement and was leaking into the kitchen.
The roof has been replaced and insulated. Redundant boiler flue removed and hole filled. Eaves cut back, gutters cleaned and replaced where necessary. Caring too - Michael kept the neighbours sweet and even helped me out with my dog in a crisis. An excellent job. I won't go anywhere else in future. Thanks Michael.

I contacted M B Roofing to have a look at some old guttering on my roof that needed replacing. When Michael came over to look at it, he felt it needed to be done urgently as it was in a dangerous position. He went off to get some new guttering and a tower and was back within half an hour. He did a wonderful job, I thoroughly recommend Michael, I for one wouldn't go anywhere else for any future work.
Company response : On arrival ,as requested earlier that day to carry out a survey i imediatley noticed the redundant 4metre long 6inch half round fibre cement guttering hanging from one bracket directly above the personel entrance! , the other brackets had been pulled away from the fascia due to the fascia board being weathered.So it was rather difficult to leave site to complie a quotation as the problem required instant attention.Having agreed to a small fee with Mrs J i carried out the works that same day.It was a pleasure to help, and thank you Mrs J for the lovely tea and biscuits , and for taking the time to write a review .Michael

November 2012. Michael has recently completed an excellent job for us in which he totally rejuvenated our roof, chimneys, soffits and guttering. We are delighted. Michael was quick to respond to my original enquiry and to carry out a survey and provide an estimate. His technical expertise is impressive – he was readily able to provide expert advice on the work required. Michael was hard working, efficient, and affable at all times (even though it rained every day he was here!). Nothing was too much trouble, including all the little ‘extras’ we asked him to do (and which he did at a very reasonable extra cost). I would recommend him without reservation. As for cost? – to be honest I was expecting to have to pay an awful lot more........ But don’t tell Michael :-).

Michael turned up at are cottage late arternoon as promised to look at chimney that we were having trouble with. He went up and took pictures to show us what was required. We agreed a price and he said he could make a start tomorrow afternoon, which he did. As he didnot finish the work that day he came back saturday to finish. Michael couldnt have been more helpfull and was also also very professional the way he carried out the work required and nothing seemed to much trouble for him, infact my gutter was leaking front and back of are cottage at the joints and he re-sealed them for me free of charge. I would recommend Michael to anyone without question.
This 1954 roof was crumbling and covered with moss, with birds’ nests where liner should have been, the valleys and gutters blocked with debris – and rain seeping into the bedroom walls and ceilings. Other roofing companies suggested a new roof or a partial patching-up. But Michael looked closely at the overall condition of the roof and dealt with it as a whole, thoroughly cleaning, repairing and replacing as necessary, making the original roof intact and sound. He works with minimum disruption for a very reasonable price, is honest, considerate and friendly, knows exactly what he’s doing and gets on with it in his own time. And appreciates a cup of coffee from time to time... It was because of the good reviews on his website that I asked him to do the work, so thanks to those reviewers – now I have a smart solid roof and can highly recommend him too.
Work completed: - Changed fall on flat roof and refelted - Re-tiled and re-felted exiting extension clay tile roof - Reparied clay tiles on the main roof Michael is an extremely knowledgable roofer and performed all the required works to a very high standard. Work was completed within the required timeframe. He has good atention to detail - would recommmend his work and would re-use for any other roofing projects.
Excellent service and standard of work, had a roof leak ( we could actually see sky from inside the bedroom!!) Michael explained clearly what was causing the problem and repaired the flashing and the back box on the chimney, and we couldn't be more pleased, wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. One thing he likes his coffee cold with 3 sugars. Thanks again Michael.
