Operating from Perth, Lynne Perkins Proofreading offers a professional proofreading and copy-editing service for all paper and computer-based media to clients throughout the UK and overseas.
Lynne's proofreading and copy-editing service includes:
- checking the accuracy of spelling, punctuation and grammar.
- checking the consistency of content, language and style - checking the overall structure and layout.
- looking at how the copy will work for the intended audience.
Lynne can apply her skills to all paper and computer-based media – for example, academic articles, annual reports, brochures, dissertations, essays, leaflets, manuals, menus and websites.
Lynne graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1994 with an MA (Hons) in English Language and Music. After this, she went on to complete a CTEFLA qualification and taught English as a foreign language in Warsaw, Bari, Eastbourne and Cambridge.
In 2000, Lynne took up a position as a commissioning editor for a distance-learning publisher in Glasgow. Her work experience up until that point, combined with a passion for detail and accuracy, led her to start proofreading while working there, and she became a self-employed proofreader and copy-editor in 2004.
Since then, she has proofread and copy-edited a wide variety of documents, including academic articles, annual reports, brochures, catalogues, mailings, procurement reports, prospectuses and websites.
