1.05 1.0 out of 5 - On 1st March I purchased a kid's chef hat for my 4 year old nephew's birthday. It hadn't arrived on 7th March, so I enquired about it's progress, as I was concerned it wouldn't arrive in time for his birthday. I was informed it had been sent by 2nd class post. I paid £3.95 for a second class delivery. When I queried this, I received an email from the owner James Berrie with nothing else but a link to their terms of service. I then queried the detail of the service and received another response from James saying and I quote 'Haven’t you got school today or are you just bored'. I wasn't trying to be difficult, I just wanted to understand why I was being charged so much for 2nd class post. Disgusting level of service from this 'family run business'.
In response to the company response to my review: I asked a valid question and wasn't rude, I simply wanted to know why you charged so much for a 2nd class delivery. There was absolutely no reason for your rude and obnoxious response 'haven't you got school today or are you just bored?'. This only speaks volumes for your customer service, work ethic and general manners. There was no threat, I genuinely feel that people should be made aware of how you speak to your paying customers. Might make them think twice before they part with their money.

Company response : Natalie Curran( Tv Producer) purchased a kids chef hat on the 2nd march it was dispatched 2nd class royal mail the next day.
This is our response to Natalie's first email.
Hi Natalie,

All shipping information is shown on our, Your Delivery page. This can be found via a link on every page. This is a section of those terms:
All shipments are made from the United Kingdom. Little chef big chef uses a combination of surface mail, and couriers as appropriate. Most orders will be sent via Royal Mail 2nd class post. Occasionally, if you have a large order, it may be necessary to send it via Standard Parcel Force. Postage costs are £3.95, no matter how big your order. If anything is unavailable, we will let you know as soon as we can.
Natalie Curran obviously did not read the delivery notes properly, her email complaining of being excessively charged does not make sense. We clearly state "Postage costs are £3.95, no matter how big your order" what part of that sentence is not clear?
This is Natalie's "I wasn't trying to be difficult, I just wanted to understand why I was being charged so much for 2nd class post." email
"£3.95 for second class mail isn't on. If you are going to send a small item by second class mail, you shouldn't be charging this amount. It isn't a large order it is a small chef hat, which you would always have known you were going to send 2nd class delivery, so why charge that amount in the first place. Do I get a refund for the amount you chose not to spend on faster delivery service?"

And here is Natalie Curran threatening us with her press contacts..
Thank you for your response.
As a TV Producer, I am more than happy to provide the contents of this email to my press contacts.
I shall be returning the item and expect a full refund.
Kind regards
