Neither my wife or I are what you would call car enthusiasts but when seeing Edward arrive we couldn't fail to be blown away. A truly beautiful car which was a dream and enormous fun to drive for the 3 days we had him. We couldn't fail but smile the whole time.
Added to that, the friendly and exceptional service from Clive and Karen, who are clearly passionate about their job, helped to make the whole experience a total pleasure..... So much so, we're doing it all again in October and can not wait.
Just a short email to say how well Edward and I bonded during our day out in the lakes. He was a perfect gentleman and we had a wonderful day out together travelling over Honister Pass, having lunch in Buttermere before returning through Newlands Valleyand skirting Keswick to travel past Ulleswater and over the Kirkstone Pass back to Windemere. Overall we travelled 100 miles plus and everywhere we went all the ladies (and men) were watching his every move. He was absolutely splendid in his bright red coat and he took all the hills and the bends in his stride with plenty left in reserve. Apart form having to breath in on some of the narrower parts the trip was trouble free and unfortunately our time was up all to soon. I was sad to wave goodbye and I had a tear in my eye as we parted.
A truly memorable day with a fantastic car benefiting from perfect weather.
As they say on Masterchef ' driving doesn't get much better than this'.
We hired Edward on our wedding in March; "WOW" was the word on everyone’s lips... Something out of 'James Bond'.
A truly classic head turner, it was a pleasure to have had Edward with us on this special celebration. The bright sunny mornings with the gleaming sun emphasised the true beauty of Edward.
From my initial enquiry about Edward Clive was very helpful and thought nothing of giving up his time of leisure to help, he was always on call for any assistance.
Me and my wife would like to thank Clive and Karen for allowing us to hire Edward for our wedding and making this a memorable experience.
Driving Edward was an extremely pleasurable experience! Through towns and villages you are a celebrity, having pictures taken of you and on the open road you are a racing driver feeling every turn. Every effort was made to make the day as simple as possible with instructions that were clear and easy to follow. Along with providing the little extras such as umbrellas for the unpredictable Lake District, Clive was very accommodating and answered every question and communicated well before the day. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
Thanks Clive.

We would highly recommend Lancashire Classic Jaguar for your wedding car, the service and car (Lewis) was magnificent for us; accommodating our particular requests. Communication was excellent. In our view 2nd to none. Thank you very much... Were only sorry we don't intend to marry again!! Paul and Rebecca.
My wife and I had a lovely day in the Triumph Stag. The service from Clive was exceptional throughout the whole experience and the package was tailored perfectly to meet our requirements. Everything on the car was explained very clearly (including the roof) and the deposit was back in my account before I got back home.
We wanted to spend some time in the car to get a taste of it as we are thinking of buying one as our first classic car and it was really useful to do so. Upon our return the mechanic kindly took the time to point out things to look for when searching for our own "Trevor".
Many thanks once again, I thoroughly recommend Lancashire Classic Jaguar Hire to anyone wanting to treat themselves and we will be back!
My experience of Lancashire Classic Jaguar hire was excellent from start to finish. I've always loved the E-type, and he is, as Alfie might say, 'in beautiful condition'.
We drove him through the Honister Pass, as suggested, which although a tad challenging was enormously enjoyable. And the drive combined a fantastic car with incredible scenery - so a treat for all the senses! We were extremely impressed by the overall quality of the service and the thoroughness of the package. The car performed perfectly and all the information needed to guarantee a confident drive was thoughtfully presented. The umbrellas were also a nice touch.
It was a fantastic experience and hopefully it will not be the last time that I meet up with Edward.
For my 40th birthday, my wife surprised me by hiring Edward for the day to drive around the Lake District. The car and weather made it one of the best days of my life.
Having got over the shock of the surprise (Edward was hidden parked in a small marquee tent) I could hardly contain my excitement.
When I turned the key and pressed the starter button, the car sounded like nothing I had ever heard or driven.
Having nervously negotiated the single track lane, we pulled out onto the main road and gently pushed the accelerator. Wow, it was the most exhilarating driving experience of my life.
When we drove slowly though Bowness, the whole town seemed to stop and stare as not only is the car iconic it is in fantastic condition.
There were two real highlights of the day. The first was roaring over the top of Kirkstone pass with the two of us laughing out loud and the second was being passed by a motorcyclist who turned and put a thumbs up at the car.
For the whole day I was transfixed by the car as you really have to drive it, no power steering and a 3.8 litre engine.
I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone considering it although you need to be a confident driver if you are going to drive around the twisty roads of the Lake District.
I'm currently plotting the next excuse to drive it!
My wife and I were given the chance to drive, for a day, the "E"type Jaguar known as Edward. We were cheerfully greeted by Jeff Hall and given a careful and comprehensive guide as to how to manage the car. As we are both in our sixties, there was much that was somewhat familiar from the time that we first owned a car in the 1960s - no power steering, power brakes etc. It was a very nostalgic time and despite a little rain we had a wonderful day. It is so fantastic that classic cars like the "E" type not only still exist but that there are owners willing to risk letting them into the hands of "amateurs". The car is clearly treasured and well looked after by an enthusiastic owner and those involved with him in caring for it.
