Stayed at Lainson Lodge. Lodge is very comfortable and clean. Slightly disappointed that it was so cold on our arrival. Heating had broken down and only been discovered that morning. Also the dishwasher is very small, you cannot get a dinner plate in it. Both minor points but have affected my rating. I would stay for a short break again but not for longer than 4 days.
Company response : Dear Cheryl We are disappointed by your recent comments about the heating at Lainson Lodge as it was explained to you that the heating system had failed but the plumber had already been out to fix it and it was working for your arrival and remained so for the rest of your stay. It usually only takes about 15mins to warm the lodge. The dishwasher is designed to take a 4 place setting load and as you can see in the photograph there are 7 dinner plates in the angled slots provided. We are glad to hear you found the lodge clean and comfortable. Sorry photo will not load but can be sent to future guests who wish to be reassured the the dishwasher is fully functional.

We stayed at property 69564 earlier this year and had a wonderful time. The owner was there to meet us and was friendly and helpful. The property was comfortable and extremely clean and cosy. It was also well equipped - a home from homes. we shall certainly return.
We had a fantastic long weekend at the lodge. We stayed in 'Capernwray' which was just so clean and comfortable. The owner has thought of everything; gorgeous décor, starter tea and coffee, flat screen TV in the bedroom as well as the living room, a really good selection of DVD's and a few toys in the cupboard. The lodge was very well equipped, with the Kitchen having loads of utensils, pot, pans, crockery etc. The actual site is nice and welcoming and there are ducks everywhere who are really tame. The pool was good and the on-site restaurant had lovely food and is in a very nice setting. I booked another weekend for myself, my husband and our 2-year-old as soon as we came home. The only down side is that there isn't loads to do for older children and teenagers in the area. But if you are a couple wanting a relaxing weekend or have a small child, Lakeland Lodges are perfect. Also worth a mention, there is a petting farm just up the road from the lodges that has play areas and animals to feed. The owners of the farm are in the process of doing it up, but you can see they have achieved a lot already and that it is going to be really good when it is finished.
About the Lodge: Wow! Gorgeous! Clean and modern with all the facilities you need inc cooker, television, dishwasher, big fridge freezer. Better that our house at home! Very tastefully decorated. Bedrooms are large and spacious - big comfy beds! Beautiful terrace - ideal for BBQs 2 Bathrooms - one en suite and another with a bath (ideal if you have little ones) Would definately recommend staying here for a holiday or if you are working in the area. Maureen looked after us if there was any questions etc We were also welcomed on site on our first day which was nice. Cleaner was thorough and very nice.
About the Site: The site is beautiful - all lodges surrounding a lake with immaculate grounds. Swimming pool, steam room and gym on site which are clean / modern with great facilities - lots of machines to use. Staff in bar and restaurant are very friendly. Food is excellent, good choice and reasonable - they are doing a two courses for ten pounds deal which is excellent value. They also do an excellent range of wines and good beer on draught. Launderette on site as well which is v handy. Nearby there are some good places off site to eat including Longlands (Tewitfield Lock), Amico (Italian) in Greenlands farm. In Carnforth - very close there are supermarkets (Tesco and Booths) and chinese take-aways, chippys etc. Close to Morecambe Bay - for a day trip! Take the kids to Happy Mount Park in Morecambe - they will love it.
The only drawback is that the quality of the WIFI provided by the club charged at GBP6 per 48 hours was awful with extremely weak network which is unacceptable even free of charge.
Company response : Dear Pamela I am sorry the wi-fi dissapionted you it is provided by the leisure village and unfortunatly Lakeland Lodges have no control over the charges or quality of that service. For future guests any malfunction please report to recepption at the leisure village at the time of use.

Kingfisher Lodge is excellent, spotlessly clean and very comfortable, we loved its layout. The welcome was very friendly and helpful. We liked the thoughtful little touches such as complimentary tea/coffee and toiletries. The beds were really comfortable and we very much appreciated the soft towels provided. The kitchen is very well equipped and had everything we could possibly need. Kingfisher is conveniently located on the park near to the modern leisure centre and Waters Edge Restaurant where the food is excellent and the friendly service adds to the pleasure of dining out. We found the whole area wonderful and enjoyed exploring the Lakes and Lancashire coast around Morecambe Bay. There is so much to do and so many places to go that a week was nowhere near long enough. We shall definitely be back. A faultless stay in every way and would thoroughly recommend it. Darren and Gill Thwaites
Wow cabin 22 Lakeside. This property was exactly as described and more, we would give it a 5*rating. The facilities in the cabin were absolutely fantastic - you could actually live in it and not be short of anything. The layout of the site and the facilities were also excellent,we had a lovely meal in the restaurant one evening and it was not over-priced and the staff were helpful and friendly. The property was very clean and the bedding was lovely and fresh and to a very high standard. The owner gave us very good instructions on how to get there and where to pick up the keys and we didn't have any problems at all. The area is lovely, it being only a 20 minute drive to Lake Windermere. We had a fantastic day out on the steam train and boats - it was the first time we had visited the Lake District and it certainly won't be the last! Many Thanks Pam & Peter and Jack.
We stayed in a beautiful log cabin No 22 Lakeside(Kestrel)over the New Year period, we arrived to an extremely clean and inviting property. There was even a Christmas tree up in the lounge which was a lovely touch and gave it the festive feel.
The property has everything required for a very pleasant home from home stay and is spacious enough for 6 people. The kitchen has all the equipment you could ever need and is in excellent working order to make good family meals. There are 2 bikes provided for use by guests which will be an added bonus in the summer months. The pictures on the site really do not justify just how modern and comfortable this property really is.
The cabin is situated in an excellent location with a lovely view of the lake and the water fountain. It is only a couple of minutes from the leisure centre and also the pub/restaurant which has a good outside eating area right on the lakeside. We used the leisure centre several times and the rates were very reasonable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The lake can be used for boats and fishing and there is a lovely walk all the way around. Our ten year old was kept thoroughly entertained each morning feeding the ducks.
The local village has a good size Tesco for all your needs and is only a few minutes drive away. We visited Sizergh farm in the local area where we spent several hours, enjoyed homemade food in the farmhouse cafe and even saw the cows being milked much to the amusement of our children and the adults! The site is only a short drive from Kendall and is very convenient for discovering the Lake District.
The communication with the owner was faultless right from the beginning of the booking through to the arrival instructions etc., On our departure we accidentally left a couple of items behind and these were very kindly posted back to us within the week.
We would not hesitate to highly recommend this lovely holiday home and will be returning in the near future to discover more of the surrounding area. Kind Regards, The Follon Family January 2010.
