Opened in June 2008, Knights nursery and baby unit has qualified staff with over 10 years of experience in the child care sector, with the focus on providing care for babies and children aged 6 months - 5years to families within the local area. The nursery is based in Chartham (Canterbury) and offers two large spacious rooms, private access to the play centre and a large enclosed outdoor area. Knights nursery is open all year round from 8am to 6pm monday to friday and are only closed two weeks at Christmas.

Knights nursery and baby unit offers morning, afternoon or full day care sessions (mornings are 8am - 1pm, afternoons are 1pm -6pm or full day is 8am - 6pm). Child care vouchers are also accepted and 3 and 4 year old free entitlement funding is also available.

All meals are provided (breakfast, snack, hot lunches, snack, dinner) with a choice of milk or water, and water is constantly available. (If it is prefered for your child to have juice this can be arranged).

All the nursery asks is for parents to supply nappies, change of clothes, sun cream / hat, wellies / rain coat for wet weather and for babies formula milk / bottles. (The nappy changing policy is to change nappies every hour and a half so enough nappies will need to be provided for this).

The nursery supplies pampers sensitive wipes. All meals provided are healthy and nutritious: Breakfast consists of cereals, toast, fruit and yogurt, snacks consist of fruit, salad sticks, raisins and breadsticks. Lunch and dinner is freshly made and delivered by Zebedees who cater for nurseries.

Knights nursery consists of a manager, a deputy manager, a baby room supervisor and a pre-school room supervisor all whom have relevant childcare qualifications. The manager holds a NNEB qualification, the deputy holds a level 3 and the room supervisors hold level 2 and are working towards their level 3. All other staff either have many years child care experience from bringing up their own children / work or have at least a level 2.

All staff are required to go on first aid, child protection, health and safety training as part of their induction. The manager is also SENCO trained.

Knights nursery and baby unit is growing day by day and has families who commute into canterbury for work and bring their children to the nursery. Because knights nursery accept child care vouchers from all different companies this is an added benefit for parents.

Prices are worked out according to age, with a discount if 5 sessions or more are booked. A deposit is required, which is taken off your last bill as and when the child leaves. All fees are payable a month in advance.

The nursery is managed by michelle Mitchell who has worked within the child care sector for over 10 years. Having previously worked for nurseries, pre-schools and as a nanny, michelle Mitchell is more than qualified to manage the nursery. Both Michelle and the owner Lisa Dopson have strong aims for the nursery and by working as a team they are making sure the level of care is to a very high standard.
