John Forster Guitar Tuition - Instrument RepairJohn Forster lives and works in Crosby Villa, which is about 5 miles from Maryport Cumbria. He has been playing and teaching guitar for over forty years and in doing so acquired a great deal of knowledge and experience on the music scene. Since having a slight stroke in 2002 John decided to give up traveling around the various venues and concentrate on tuition and guitar repairs.
John offers a guitar repair service and prices are competitive. He also has a fast turnover with the repairs so the customer won’t be waiting for weeks. As for the guitar tuition, there too John’s prices are reasonable. He has an unusual way of teaching and tries to make each lesson fun and not too formal.
John is a very well known and respected guitarist in Cumbria and has always been in demand owing to the versatility of his playing. In the early 60’s he started playing in a popular local band The Meteors and progressed to Jazz combo’s, Big Band, Dance Band, Duo’s, Trio’s, resident guitarist in various clubs and hotels, in fact John has covered most styles and venues.
John will take on any age group from 7 to 70 and he will only teach on a one to one basis. As a new project he also builds and sells Hawaiian Lap Steel guitars at a reasonable price too.
