Henry Venables started business on his own account as a jobbing carpenter and builder in 1855. His work became more directed to using hardwood and the foundation of the present timber business originated in 1860 when he built a saw mill on the old site at Doxey road, Stafford. His reputation for integrity and quality of service laid the foundations for succeeding generations.
Over the years hundreds of important projects have featured Henry Venables' timbers including Windsor Castle, York Minster, River Rowing museum, National Trust projects and Shakespeare’s Globe.
