Haulage support is the company delivering the iPhone app' Ask Simon. Haulage Support was the import brand of one of the directors company's, now used for the new app' for drivers in the UK. The Ask Simon iPhone app is the app for the UK truck haulage logistics driver to help with his need for efficient driving with the tools that this iPhone app delivers right in to the cab with the driver. The app' is named after a friend of Andy's who passed away. It was Simon that Andy used to phone for advice when driving (and apologise too for always losing his pens in the cab).
Haulage Support is based in Ipswich, close to The Port Of Felixstowe where the concept creator lives. Andy Proctor realised that there was a need to provide the service that the app' provides the UK truck driver from his own experience of driving trucks for friends who owned haulage companies. His struggles have been realised, developed and delivered with this iPhone app'. Andy only ever drove odd days for friends when they needed his help and never had any training beyond passing his test and this, he thought, was wrong.
The app's only out on the iPhone plaform for Q1 of 2013 as his own survey of 100 drivers at the Repsol Garage in Felixstowe showed that there was not a need to develop this as a paid application on Android as yet. |I used Haulage support to deal with a shipment arriving at Felixstowe from Singapore. They cleared it through Customs and delivered it with complete efficiency. They were very informative and did what they said without fail.|
