|I ordered the G.P. EMERALD TWIST CLADDAGH BROOCH on the 29th of November 2011 from the website. This was intended as a Christmas present, to be shipped to a relative overseas so I needed the item as soon as possible. On the 5th December paypal emailed to advise there was a refund from Handmadebyme but of course there was no explanation. I then received a curt and unapologetic email from Handmadebyme stating that the purchased item was 'discontinued' and that I could purchase something else from the website. I will never us this website again as it falsely advertises products as available when they are not, takes so long to discover and reverse errors and then does not apologise and rectify the problem when it is at fault.|

In answer to your questions
1. Why was there no notification on your website that this was a discontinued item?
We are not made aware of discontinued items from our wholesaler as we are unlike other suppliers we are unable to hold stock and order in items when an order is placed on our site
2. Why did you accept my money, when you could not ship the ordered item?
Because we didnít know- and we tried to ring and left a message.
3. Why has it taken a week to notify me the purchased item was discontinued and refund my money?
We tried ringing
30th November at 4pm and 7pm
First thing today and also twice this evening
I spoke to Solvar and they said that when an item is discontinued they remove it from their site and rely on their suppliers to check their website. We sell over 400 of their items and Iím so sorry but Iím afraid it is impossible to check this.
I can however confirm that everything on the website I directed you to earlier is available and I can if ordered -have it in by Friday which would then be dispatched next day delivery to you
Once again I apologise for the inconvenience and it was not our intention to cause you any distress before Christmas.
