I originally booked Gary to take down a partially built flat-pack wardrobe prior to the 3rd version of this wardrobe arriving from a well known good department store; I had wanted Gary to then book with me to put up the next wardrobe but he advised me (despite then missing out on doing the job and being paid) to contact the store and insist that they send someone out to do it for free - I had not thought of this and it was done as he had advised. As his work on dismantling the wardrobe was done neatly and for a very small amount of money I was keen to ask Gary to complete a variety of odd jobs that I had left to do on my newly refurbished home. I emailed him the request for the work and he sent me a full list of all costs. The work was duly carried out over 2 days: putting up many pictures of varying sizes, fitting a handrail up the stairs, fitting a grab bar over the bath, putting up a large mirror, putting up 2 coat-hooks and shelves, and fitting shelves in 2 display cabinets and 3 shelves fitted to walls, a clock, and also minor bits like net curtain hooks and hanging of various knick-knacks. All of the work was carried out neatly and all mess (very minor) cleaned up; Gary was polite friendly and cheerful throughout, very professional in his attitude and nothing was too much trouble, for example he re-sited the net curtain hooks when I decided I wasn't happy with my original idea of where to site them. He arrived on time and worked hard throughout both days, and also went to B&Q to collect some shelf brackets for me. His quotes for the work were good and he stuck to his quote. I have already passed his business card on to friends and family and I am planning to ask him back next year to tidy up the paint-work in my house as it has cracked due to the re-plastering. Gary is definitely a great find!
I searched the internet for someone who could sort out a problem with our wardrobe sliding doors. The repair had to be carried out quickly by someone who knew what they were doing as the mirror sliding doors are very heavy and had slipped off the rails and jammed in the closed position. I found Gary on the net and read his reviews and decided to contact him as the most likely person to help me out with my problem. When I contacted him I found him to be very polite and friendly and said he would take the job on. Gary was very fast in his response to my request for his services and quickly arranged a time for the work to be carried out. He arrived on time and sorted out my problem cleanly and efficiently. I was very impressed overall with Gary as a tradesman and pleased with the way he conducted the whole event. Finally I would say he was very fair with his charges and would definitely highly recommend his services.
I asked Gary to build two large IKEA wardrobes for me, complete with doors and interior fittings. To say I am pleased with his work and the service provided is an understatement.
He is very courteous, professional and thorough. He works efficiently and leaves everywhere clean and tidy, and the price was very reasonable. There were some small parts missing from the IKEA package, but Gary was able to locate suitable parts from his van, saving me a trip to B&Q!
He responded quickly to my initial email enquiry - always a good sign - and was able to come out to do the work within two days, which I thought was very reasonable. Unlike other workmen I have encountered in the past, Gary just gets on with his work - I almost forgot he was in the house!
I am so pleased at having 'discovered' Gary and plan to ask him to do some painting and decorating for me. I am so pleased, I have also recommended him to friends and family via Facebook.
(Oh, and he even took his shoes off without me having to ask him, which was a great help as I have just had new carpets fitted!).
Very polite and friendly. Had a flat pack wardrobe and chest of drawers to be assembled, Mr Blackburn was very organised and tidy and did a fantastic job. He was very helpful and would use his services again. Highly recommend.
Excellent service at very short notice just a few days before christmas! Gary assembled a triple IKEA wardrobe and some cupboards, very quickly and efficiently. Clean and tidy work and very helpful and courteous. I will definately use Gary again and recommend him without hesitation.
Gary carried out a number of tasks for us (wallpapering, painting, door furniture, door hanging, kitchen unit repairs etc.). All of these were carried out very promptly and to a very high standard. We were extremely pleased with the service that Gary provided and would recommend him to anyone.
Gary made some shelves and put them up for me in a wardrobe and some more in the garage. He has also put up a curtain rail and pictures for me. Gary always clears up afterwards leaving the place clean and tidy.
A speedy and efficient service from Gary. He arrived exactly at the time agreed and did the job of building the 2 door wardrobe and chest with no fuss.
