There has been a tobacconists located on this site for over 100 years and G. T. Coventry's provides a complete range of tobacco leaf products and smoker's requisites to customers worldwide. Set-up in 1906, the shop is located in Kirkcaldy, Scotland.
310 must be one of the oldest retail outlets in Scotland. In 1720 it was a meal mill (horse-powered), becoming a chemist and druggists in 1861, and a hatters in the 1890's.
Products stocked are sourced from over 30 different countries and GT's are confident that even the most discerning customer will find something of interest within the 'emporium'. From snuff, hand and machine made cigars, chewing bits, twist, ready rubbed and hand rolling if it's made from tobacco (and available within the UK) then GT's sells it.
GT's also offers a full range of smoker's requisites : lighters (E.g. , Zippo; Givenchy; ST Dupont; Corona), pipes (E.g. , Falcon; Peterson; Chacom; Savinelli; Nording; Comoy; Dr Plumb), cigarette holders, cases and making machines, tips and papers, humidors and cigar cutters.
Through the back there is also a second hand bookshop covering a plethora of subjects but in particular is centered on Scottish and non-fiction themes.
GT's is currently under the stewardship of Maclean John Dorward who took over in 2002. Having previously been a chef, restaurateur, research scientist and college lecturer he went back to college to take a degree in Entrepreneurship the result being the identification of a business such as GT's as ticking all the right boxes.
