There has been a tobacconists located on this site for over 100 years and G. T. Coventry's provides a complete range of tobacco leaf products and smoker's requisites to customers worldwide. Set-up in 1906, the shop is located in Kirkcaldy, Scotland.

310 must be one of the oldest retail outlets in Scotland. In 1720 it was a meal mill (horse-powered), becoming a chemist and druggists in 1861, and a hatters in the 1890's.

Products stocked are sourced from over 30 different countries and GT's are confident that even the most discerning customer will find something of interest within the 'emporium'. From snuff, hand and machine made cigars, chewing bits, twist, ready rubbed and hand rolling if it's made from tobacco (and available within the UK) then GT's sells it.

GT's also offers a full range of smoker's requisites : lighters (E.g. , Zippo; Givenchy; ST Dupont; Corona), pipes (E.g. , Falcon; Peterson; Chacom; Savinelli; Nording; Comoy; Dr Plumb), cigarette holders, cases and making machines, tips and papers, humidors and cigar cutters.

Through the back there is also a second hand bookshop covering a plethora of subjects but in particular is centered on Scottish and non-fiction themes.

GT's is currently under the stewardship of Maclean John Dorward who took over in 2002. Having previously been a chef, restaurateur, research scientist and college lecturer he went back to college to take a degree in Entrepreneurship the result being the identification of a business such as GT's as ticking all the right boxes.

This is a wonderful shop to visit.Brings back so many memories of going in with my Grandmother to buy the familys Cigars for Christmas. I am now 62years old and still visit Coventry,s. when I am in Kirkcaldy. The new owner keeps up the tradition of good old fashioned helpful service.

When you find a vintage specialist shop like this you always go back - I bought 2 of my Xmas gifts at G T Coventry, One Zippo lighter for a 24 year old back packing brother and some cigars for a discerning 80 year old cigar buff - I didn't know anything about cigars, but after guidance from the shop proprietor Mr Dorward, I was given recommendations for 3 unusual ones at 3 very different price ranges - and he posted them to me in nice packaging - I impressed my 80 year old relative no end - think he's hoping for the same next year and the next!!

Wonderful emporium of tobacconist's requisites and also second hand books, tucked away at the forgotten end of Kirkcaldy High Street. The shop smells enticing as loose tobacco , in all its flavours is still sold, even to a non smoker like myself. The owner is charming and nothing seems too much trouble, he also appears to have a wealth of knowledge on various subjects, not just pipes and tobacco....what a pity they don't serve coffee, I could have stayed for hours!

I was surprised to find a specialised tobacco shop in a small town like Kirkcaldy as they are proving elusive in my home city of Glasgow. The chap with the beard who served was very pleasant and seemed to know his stuff. If I'm ever in the town again I'll certainly pay the shop another visit.
