Family Support Partnership Lanarkshire - CharityFamily Support Partnership Lanarkshire is a strategic partnership between Family Mediation South Lanarkshire, Relate Lanarkshire and Scottish Marriage Care.
The partnership brings together North and South Lanarkshire’s main relationship counselling, sexual therapy, child contact centre and family mediation services.
By working together FSPL aims to provide a truly joined-up service for couples and families in Hamilton, East Kilbride, Lesmahagow, Motherwell, Blantyre and Lanark.
Family mediation helps parents who are separating or divorcing make their own arrangements and plans for the future, particularly regarding their children.
Scottish Marriage Care and Relate Lanarkshire's relationship counselling services are available to couples or individuals who are married, living together, living apart, divorced or separated. Counselling services are offered without judgement or discrimination on any grounds and regardless of race, sexual orientation, religion, personal beliefs, or social background.
All counsellors have received special training in relationship counselling. It takes two to three years to become a fully qualified counsellor. They may undergo further training to specialise in areas such as family counselling or sex therapy. All counsellors continue with ongoing training and consultation with other professionals to ensure they give the highest standard of counselling.
Family mediators are fully trained professionals who have a full knowledge of the complexity of all aspects of separation and divorce. They are all accredited by Family Mediation Scotland.
