 out of 5 | After reading the reviews on this site about Mc cann civil works Ltd and michael, i decided to use their drainage expertise and found the comment left by the last lady mrs walker to be totally untrue. As these guys and michael in particular was fantastic, they quoted the job and stuck to it. After speaking to michael i asked about the comment left for his company by mrs walker he then told me what this person was about and was trying to tarnish his reputation even after he went out of his way to help her it was michael who left her job as she was extremely awkward so i decided to write this review as michael and his team went above and beyond what we expected. Mrs walker attempted to report michael to thames water for using water that michaels colleague used to clean her (mrs walkers) own drains as she would not let them use the tap, and then didn't want to pay for a jetting unit she had booked shame on you mrs walker.Michael is a member of the builders guild and prides himself on the work they carry out and are very professional as we soon found out. Get a life mrs walker as i and others have used mc cann civils before and will again. Sorry to go on but there is some cowboys out there and mc cann civils certainly aren't one. So its time for customers like us to stand up for the decent builders as customers can be vindictive and mrs walker is definitely one of those customers. hope i put the record straight as we own 8 property's and would not use anyone else except michael and his team.  out of 5 | I arranged with Michael Mc Cann, the owner of the company, to come to our property to conduct a free estimate. On the day, he came with his partner, Peter, to "start the job" as he understood it. When I told him that we (a Residents Association) would like a free estimate Michael got very pushy about the fact he came all this way to start the job. After an intense conversation, Michael and Peter were given permission to jet wash for a limited time of two hours. When they started to provide a service that wasn't agreed upon I terminate the contract and asked them to leave. Michael was adamant I pay for the entire two hours though it hadn't been two hours from the time they started to “work”. I disputed the fact that I should not be charged for 30 minutes of waiting time while his partner filled up his van from a distant hydrant. In the end, a cheque was written for a fixed amount.....not sure if we paid VAT, as I am still waiting for a proper invoice to substitute the one Michael wrote in haste on a torn piece of paper. In conclusion, I would not recommend this company. The Mc Cann Civil Works Ltd did not provide a free estimate that was originally promised. In fact, with all of Michael's experience in drainage, he wouldn't even give us an idea of how long the job would roughly take. To top it off, they left rubbish on our property. On reflection, I would not have allowed any work to be started until things were in WRITING. I would have checked their professional membership with the appropriate Guilds. In regards to the payment dispute, I would have called Local Trading Standards to get their advice before payment. |
| Company Response : This so called lady was a complete messer booked a jetting unit and then claimed she did'nt then was rude after she was only charged 2 hours jetting even though she was told it would be unsure of how blocked her drains were without a cctv survey well mrs walker we arent physcic and can't see blockages with magic eyes,then refused to let jetting unit fill with water after it was empty because her drains were so blocked,in the end we left because she was a complete nightmare please don't call again mrs walker and pity any other drainage contractor she uses |
out of 5 | Mc Cann Civil Works came to my house in Mitcham to do a drain servae as we had a blockage found problem, gave me a very good price to do the job. They done job for me and kept house very tidy, very pleased with job. |
 out of 5 | Having just had a flood i was very nervous about the state of my drains Michael was a good find as it was clear he could sort my problems and for a reasonable rate. what was refreshing is that they turned up on time, did what they said they would and for the price quoted. I reccomended to my neighbour who was also pleased. Andy Coulson |
out of 5 | Michael did a great job for us. He made time to come by on short notice to have a look at a leaky exterior drain that was causing some damp in our kitchen. A previous engineer who had only solved part of the problem. Michael's extensive experience with drain construction proved very helpful as he very quickly had some ideas about what the problem was. Once he got stuck in a few days later he got to the bottom of things straight away. He sorted everything out for a fee in the middle of the range he quoted. He also made some improvements to the drain which will help keep it working properly going forward. He's a very polite, conscientious worker who offered us some helpful advice. He showed up on time each time (something I'm not really used to to be honest!) I'd definitely recommend Michael for this kind of structural work. |
out of 5 | I found Michael McCann to offer a very good service. Honestly, it wasn't the cheapest of services, but I found him to be very communicative and clear about what the problem was and how he intended rectifying it. He kept me informed every step of the way, arrived when he said he would, and provided a very efficient service. I was also impressed with his PC-based instruments and the fact that he promised to deliver a report and receipt later in the day and delivered on that promise in a timely fashion. I would use McCann again. |
