Homeopathy offers a safe and natural treatment for a wide range of acute and long-standing conditions and can benefit people of all ages. It considers the whole person, and the homeopathic doctor's task is to select a remedy which matches not only the person’s physical symptoms, but also his or her emotional and mental characteristics. Symptoms of illness are viewed as a distress call from the body. Homeopathy stimulates the body's natural healing power to bring it back into healthy balance. Homeopathic remedies are non-addictive, and free from toxic side effects, so that they can be used safely even in babies.
The Consultation: In order to find the right remedy, a thorough medical history is necessary, as well as an understanding of the individual and how the person is affected by the illness. The initial consultation usually lasts over an hour for a long-standing condition. All the information from the consultation is carefully considered, and a remedy is prescribed. At the follow-up appointment, which lasts about 40 minutes, the response to the remedy is discussed. There is a wide variation in the way individuals respond to the remedies, some experiencing improvements or a curative effect shortly after taking the remedy, and others requiring more than one remedy before an effect is observed. Once the symptoms have started to go in the direction of cure, follow-ups are made at longer intervals until they become unnecessary. If as a result of homeopathic treatment, the need for conventional medication is reduced, this can be discussed with the GP, and appropriate action taken.
Dr Gabriel Blass graduated B. Sc. Honours in Pathology in 1986, and M. B. , Ch. B. With Commendation, Faculty of Medicine, University of Glasgow in 1988. He has been involved in Homeopathy since 1987. Treatment is with homeopathic remedies exclusively. Dr Gabriel Blass Homeopath has been involved with homeopathic medicine since 1987. He is a Registered Member of the Society of Homeopaths. This society has a Code of Ethics, and defines academic and clinical standards for homeopathic practitioners. In addition to his clinical practice, he lectures to other doctors, homeopaths and health-care professionals, gives presentations to the public, and also trains students of homeopathy.
