Dog and Bone - PubThe Dog and Bone is a long established traditional public house, offering real ale and locally sourced, home cooked food to customers throughout the local area. Established in 1856, the pub is situated in John Street (off Monks Road) Lincoln and is part of the Batemans Brewery estate. The pub has a large secluded beer garden, real coal fires, traditional pub games and a book exchange for use by customers. Highly commended by CAMRA in 2007, this is a quintessential village pub in the city.
The Dog and Bone offers a selection of cask and bottled ales including Batemans XB, Valiant, Combined Harvest and XXXB, as well as a number of guest ales appearing throughout the year. Lunchtime food is available from Tues - Sat (12 noon - 2. 30pm), all menu items are locally sourced and freshly prepared to order, including seasonal soups made with homemade stocks. A wide selection of fruit juices, herbal and fruit teas, freshly ground coffee and wines are also available.
With a welcoming atmosphere and well trained, friendly staff, the Dog and Bone offers a traditional pub experience in which to relax. The pub prides itself on not having televisions, pool tables, jukeboxes or gaming machines, preferring instead the simpler things in life, such as folk jam sessions on the first Sunday of every month (starting at 3pm) and cribbage events. Beer festivals are also held in Summer and Winter.
