Cuckoo Down Farm offers luxury, chilled-out furnished yurts for fun, relaxed camping. Each sleeps up to six and the site includes 30 acres of meadows and woodland with kitchens, hot showers, toilets and campfires. Situated in beautiful Devon close to the beaches of Sidmouth, Exmouth, Beer and Branscombe.

Cuckoo Down Farm Yurt Holidays are ideal for families, groups of cyclists / walkers and for couples. Holistic treatments including massage and one-to-one yoga sessions offered on site. Each yurt is furnished in a mixture of antique French and Oriental furniture and is both cosy and cool. Wildlife on the farm includes badgers, foxes, deer, butterflies and swallows.

This is a family business - the Sheaves family has lived at Cuckoo Down since 1958. They offer a babysitting service and can collect from nearby railway stations of Exeter, Honiton and Whimple if guests are car-free.

The site is peaceful and relaxed but within walking distance of the village shop and there are great gastro-pubs nearby. Yurts are traditional round Mongolian tents which are warm in winter and cool in summer. The Cuckoo Down yurts are cosy and weatherproof and very large - 18 feet in diameter.

The site is also available for events, parties and weddings as well as educational and teambuilding visits.

We spent the most idyllic holiday at Cuckoo Down Farm. The Yurt was absolutely beautiful, not to mention the superbly equipped ingenious outdoor kitchen.
We did stay during a monsoon like week, and with two young children you would think that could have spoilt the holiday? Couldn't have been further from the truth. We felt like pioneers far away from the constraints of modern life (yet with some luxuries thrown in! - crisp sheets, comfy double bed etc.) Our children played with the farm's two lovely sheepdogs (infact we had to buy our own stash of dog biscuits on request from our eldest daughter) , we dammed the stream, we searched the wood for wildlife and faeries. Then at night we sat under the stars, watching the flames dance on our own fire.
The hospitality couldn't have been warmer, and we were very sad to leave our magical yurt. I say 'ours' as it really felt like a home from home, albeit a round one in the middle of the countryside!
