Close Up Magician - MagicianMike Driver is a close-up magician, specialising in world-famous effects by top performers in this field. Good magic is an art form, and also powerful entertainment which provides a lot of fun, amazement and jollity. It is also a powerful stimulus to get people talking, communicating and building relationships. Mike entertains with high quality close-up magic - with cards, coins, rings, cups, sponge balls and fire. Performances can be tailored to the specific needs of different clients - at weddings, private parties and corporate events, for example. Mike has substantial performing experience, together with high level interpersonal skills. Mike Driver is a member of the British Ring of the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM). His particular interest is in the work of top magicians who have developed close-up magic.
Mike's act draws on the work of magicians such as Dai Vernon (the 'Professor', originator of modern close-up), Brother John Hamman (a Catholic monk, with his stunning visual transformation of ordinary cards), Ed Marlo (American card specialist), Peter Kane and Alex Elmsley (both amazing Britons), Jay Sankey and Richard Saunders (top Canadians) and David Stone (French, International Prize Winner, 2006).
No event is average- all are special. The act is adapted to fit the event. At many events Mike performs for 3 hours. He works at each table for about 12 minutes - performing a varied range of short, powerful effects. He entertains in between courses - he does not spoil a good meal. He also works in a 'strolling' situation such as a drinks reception or party. Magic is a strong catalyst - it gets people talking. This is great for weddings, parties and corporate events.
