DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! The Clapham Group came to build some bespoke cupboards and fit a new kitchen. They were impressive to start with but a job that they said would take 6 days took a month and even then i had to kick them out before they finished. I paid a deposit and the work started. They indicated that the final amount would be due once the work was finished, as with a normal contract but before the work was even near completion they started bullying me for money, even threatening to tear out the work they had done so far. One of the reasons they said they needed money was because they said they were behind paying suppliers. Sorry but this is not my problem! The subcontracters working for them spent most of the time complaining that they were never paid and that the company was going bankrupt.

They acted aggressively, unfairly and the work they did was substandard. They passed off the kitchen fittings as being done with a corgi-registered plumber but when I asked for his registration number he could not produce it. THIS IS ILLEGAL! When I hassled them for this registration number (they were fitting a gas cooker) they soon realised they couldn't pull a fast one and sent out a different plumber.

There are loads of ins and outs but I have to say that this was one of the worst times in my life. I felt threatened in my own home. Avoid these guys like the plague. They have no scruples and will screw you over. I have since found a wonderful builder who is trustworthy and committed. They do exist but just not at the Clapham Group!
