5.0 out of 5 | Ten years ago my wife and I moved to the village of Charlesworth from Surrey in the south of the country. We knew that we needed to meet the villagers and the best way to do that was to join the village club. What a wonderful welcome we both received, all the members were so pleased to meet us. We both decided that we would join the club as their beer prices were a lot cheaper than we had paid down south. The club has a wonderful atmosphere and you can have a conversation without having to raise your voice. Everyone was made to feel welcome with the bar staff wishing every one a good evening and a cheery smile. The Club has a Quiz every Monday evening, Line Dancing every Wednesday evening, the local Women's Institute meets there the third Thursday in every month and there is Bingo on the last Thursday of the month. Most Friday's its a time for the elderly members to get together for a quiet drink and pleasant conversation. Saturday night's there are live groups or Karaoke of even private parties. This is a place where you can enjoy the company of others without having to shout yourself hoarse, everyone knows and remembers you we noticed that most people that entered or left were welcomed or bid goodnight, it's impossible to feel like a stranger. |
