shimmerbird.co.uk - Jewellery DesignerCatherine Mary Greatrex trained for her degree in Jewellery and SilverSmithing at Loughborough College of Art and Design. Now living in Mortimer, Berkshire she designs contemporary jewellery, silk paintings and cards.
Inspired by natural forms and the curving designs of the Art Nouveau period, Catherine's jewellery designs are classically understated, simply sculptural and infinitely wearable.

Catherine has a wide range of jewellery in stock but items can be made to order in the metal and stones of your choice.
She also has a gallery of silk paintings ready to purchase and she will produce one off pieces to suit your needs.
Catherine is very happy to take commissions for one off pieces of jewellery and art work (see her website for examples of previous work)
Catherine is a fully qualified teacher of Art and has a BA(Hons) in Jewellery and SilverSmithing. She offers day and half day tuition in small-scale metalwork and silk painting.
Catherine has a comfortable and fully equipped studio with two professional jewellers benches.
Catherine has courses to suit a variety of students, from the beginner to the more experienced student.
She is also able to provide extra tuition to GCSE and A Level Art and Design students who wish to improve and enhance their portfolios.
