Caledonian Learner Driver Training is an expanding company offering Driving Instructor Training and Driving lessons to clients throughout Glasgow (Newton Mearns), Lanarkshire, Ayrshire, Renfrewshire, Stirlingshire, West Lothian and most areas of Scotland. The Senior Trainer has over 20 years experience in the Driving Instructor Training and Driving School industry and is a Grade 6 (highest grade) Approved Driving Instructor and ORDIT trainer. (Official Register of Approved Driving Instructor Trainers).

All Caledonian LDT Instructors teach a structured training course which follows the DSA test syllabus. All training vehicles are dual controlled. Learn to drive at a controlled pace in a comfortable and safe environment.

Special Courses are also available for Full Licence Holders, Pass Plus, Driver Development, Advanced Drivers and Driving Instructor Training.

All the materials – study manuals and reference books, CD-ROMs and DVDs – are endorsed by either or both the Driving Standards Agency and The Driving Instructors Association. These organisations lead this profession and set the strict standards of training and subsequent operation of all Approved Driving Instructors.

Caledonian Learner Driver Training is an ORDIT Approved Instructor Training Establishment.

The qualifying Examination to become a DSA Approved Driving Instructor is split into three parts. These are referred to as Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.

Each must be passed before moving to the next. It is usual to concentrate on each Part before training on the next, although often, an overlap of a couple of hours is built in. This way, as study progresses through Part 1 (Theory and Hazard Perception), there is a Driving assessment (for Part 2) that may identify habits or techniques which can be practised and perfected. Part 3 concentrates on Teaching Technique and, again, is tailored to requirements.

The Instructor Training Course is structured and tailored to fit around commitments to work and family life. The Course can be delivered in various areas around Scotland. It is a complete package from start to finish and normally takes between 6 and 9 months to complete, although it can be completed in less time.

Instructors trained at the company are ALL guaranteed a position, working within the network, on qualification.

The company is owned by Cliff Atkinson who has been involved in the Driving Instructor Training industry since 1989. He is a Grade 6 ADI and ORDIT Tutor who has trained all the instructors currently working within Caledonian LDT. Benefit from all this experience either by learning to drive with a professional Caledonian Instructor or begin Training as a Driving Instructor and taking a Guaranteed position in Caledonian (within Scotland only) once qualified.
